Diff failure @ 70k

So...

I was taking off from the lights the other night and once i engaged the clutch (very gently) i heard something snap.

Long story short i've been told by my indy that the splines have gouges in them and that clutch packs are shot.

I've been quoted over 6k which i don't really want to have to fork out considering i am in the process of selling the car.

Any thoughts on maybe taking it somewhere to get rebuilt or does anyone know or anyone selling one?

2007 e92 6sp

thanks

You can find one on here for a lot less. The most expensive aftermarket units cost less than$6k, pumpkin included.

I thought DCT and 6MT rear diff is same, only final drive gears are different?

70k seems to be awfully low mileage. Did you ever change the rear diff fluid?

Maybe you can give this guy a call and convince him to ship it to you. Even if you throw him an extra $500 you’re way ahead.

Brintech should be able to help you out if you call them (good guys who sell wreck parts and retrofit new engines into older cars etc)
