Yeah it may or maynot pop, not sure. I ran it tonight pretty hard till top of 5th. Ill get that fuel system here shortly, i hope.

be careful John, i like that you are increasing the boost and testing things but you are rolling the dice on a $15k bet. do it slowly on dynos with good a/f readings not the tail pipe sniffers. good luck.
ps, where did you get that pulley puller?

I did a test 60-130 pull. Started in 3rd gear since my 2nd cant grip. When i get some R888 ill try a 2nd gear kick to see if it will help the launch. 40 degrees out this evening.

So this is the dyno on the 3.33" pulley. Ran it on STD. Yes, past 7500 it is losing power and fuel. But she did 620/435. With the correct fuel system i might be about to pick up an extra 30-40hp and 20-30wtq on 10psi. But just to give you guys an idea how this car does on full E85 using the advanced fuel dynamics PROFLEX commander.

nope 42lb injectors are only 440cc.

My question is: why? As multiple people have pointed out, you are rolling the dice on a $15k engine and the odds are stacked heavily against you. Are you not satisfied with the tried and true "safe" power of a 650 kit? The limits of the S65 internals are fairly well known at this stage of the game so why reinvent the wheel at your own expense?
If you are prepared to drop in a new engine and you're just doing this for fun to see what's possible before it blows, then have at it. But if this is your DD I just don't understand why you would push the limits so hard. Either way,

Has anyone ever tried to use a boost a pump or something of that nature on the M3? Is it even something that would work? I know shelbys, mustangs, ect always use them.

I use one on my built motor 700rwhp turbo E36M3 to make sure I am safely getting enough fuel from my DW300 pump when feeding 60 lb injectors at 51 psi base pressure and running up to 25 psi boost, but that car has a conventional fuel system.
The E90M3 has a fuel pump module regulating voltage to the pump to adjust flow. I think the module will conflict with the voltage booster. Look into what Drew did on his VT700 kit — others with big power have converted as well. I cannot recall the details but you can search. I think they convert to a conventional fuel system. But beware as others have cautioned that around the same time you need more fuel if running 93 pump you also need stronger rods and lower compression. If running less efficient (but higher octane) E85, the point at which you deliver less fuel is reached earlier. |
