The BMWCCA used to run there, but haven't seen anything lately.
Bucket list track I'd like to go to in case things go bad there.
Thanks!

Not really, a lot of the TX groups don't use MotorsportReg or ClubRegistration. We have a big Facebook group for HPDE/TT/autocross.
Chin (chintrackdays.com)

PCA (via clubregistration.net)

MVP (mvptracktime.com)

Are a few groups that do regular events out there.

IMO - it's a once a done track. LRP, WGI, VIR, and Road Atlanta are much better tracks (of the ones I have driven). Those tracks have calendars on their websites to make it easier to see who's doing what when.

Partially agree. It's worth doing once, for sure, but I like going back periodically. It is really expensive which kinda kills some of the fun...because as soon as the day is cut short by weather or a black flag, you get pissed off. I try to go twice a year. If you've never done the Edge Addicts "COTA After Dark" event, I highly recommend it! Pic related.

Welllll... Maybe track days aren't cancelled after all!
Hallett added May 1-3rd weekend next week and it's my birthday next weekend so definitely making the excuse for the 4hr drive out. Now to just finish getting the car setup lol

Hallett is one of my favorite tracks!

I am hoping to get to Road Atlanta in June.

I’m seeing a lot of COVID patients at my hospital, so I think I’m gonna have to self-cancel all of my planned events even if/when COTA opens up.

I might try to shoot for the Edge Addicts night and NASA events in July.

I saw that too. It's tempting but I think I'm gonna hold out for the NASA event in early June, supposed to be a total riot.

Are you considering Edge Addicts at COTA next month and/or their Cresson 3.1 event?

I thought about doing 3.1 on the 11th, but that money is going towards the Hallett weekend trip now lol
And I probably won't make it to COTA until at least the second half of the year I think.

Email this morning made it seem like it's a go. Everyone must wear masks. Interested to see how it works with instructors.

Hallett this weekend is making instructors put on balaclava and helmet before getting into student's car. It might be a pretty large event... 40 DE people in two run groups plus at least 20-30 racers I would guess. Because Racing is Sat-Sun I opted to go up for Friday-Sat

I thought I read it was solo only. I read again and all levels are covered. I dunno how you practice social distancing with in seat instructor.

The only way I could see it as even being potentially safe “social distancing” wise from an instruction standpoint is: both people, driver/instructor, put on face covering (eg balaclava) and helmet, with closed face only, before getting in the car. That’s a good start. Maybe even long-sleeves of some sort required.

No comms, OR figure out if there’s a way that works to sanitize comms between use. Or something where the student buys/gets a new earpiece from instructor or something similar. There’s several possibilities there I think.
Or go TNiA style with no in-car instructing, but I don’t think that’s safe nor with Drivers Edge standards so hmmmmm. Eagles Canyon lead-follow has been going well but the pace is least-common-denominator so less fun for the students that may be borderline on moving up a group.
