Really fun day out with SpeedSF. Hung out with kpewpew for most of the day - he also set a new PB! Really liked running the bypass config. This is the first time I've run it, second time on the east course. Couldn't have asked for better weather, no wind, 50F, and sunny. Gonna be tough to match the times we ran today! My car was really feeling good.

This lap was during the SpeedSF Challenge, which was awesome because I actually got to run some open laps with just a couple McLarens out in front to act as rabbits. I could get them through the slower stuff and the corners but my little NA V8 is no match in the straights. I ended up resetting the S2 class record on this lap by just under a second - not bad for the first time out!

Watch for the ultra-code-brown moment at the end of the lap. One of the cars blew a motor and gathered up the car behind him after because of the slick. I got really lucky to avoid becoming a part of it. Sorry for the terrible audio - I like this camera angle since you get to see a bit more excitement, but I'll have to get a different camera with an external audio input if I keep using that spot.

Video:

Great save! Could have been very messy with those cars sitting there...

Haven't been on track since August. Lots of time left on the table and had to remember how to drive. Super happy to go below 2 minutes still. I got a LOT of actionable feedback from my friends on how to improve at almost every turn, so I hope to keep slicing off more time with a relatively static setup. Just tire and durability changes in the future. (285 square + minor items)

Ha ha! I see you guys were running the cheater course 🤣. In which there were no cones leading into the back straight. Just giving you a hard time....... 😃

Other Mods: Tune, Megan headers, BW exhaust, BBK, plywood front splitter, NRG rear wing, 2975 lbs

Made some damper adjustments which actually made a difference. Went to full soft on front rebound/compression and full stiff rear rebound/compression.

As is, I'm confident there's a 1:42 in it. Then I need to improve the aero. To much flex/movement in the splitter and wing.

I quit! You are carrying 5-10 mph more than I can manage through turns. I'm 3800 lbs but it still hurts! We're you on A7s? You and Thundermoose should stop posting vids.

Some race footage from thunderbolt last season. Was trying out a new alignment and it had, well, very little grip lol. Trashed some hoosiers that weekend. Enjoy.

AlpineMSS stage 2 tunes

1:22:7 best time, didn't get full weekend because first session in Sunday, my best session, I broke all 5 studs on driver front and lost the wheel going into turn 4. The 3 laps prior were all 1:22s, so I'm happy with the consistency. Also first time on that track in this car, so I'm sure I could squeeze more out of it as I learn the car.

Day 3 on the AR1's was not as fun as the first two. Fought some issues with a temp sensor sending the car into limp mode in the first sessions, finally discovered that if I didn't clear the code it would work fine. Ordered a new sensor so hopefully no more of that. Only my second time at BW but there is a lot more time in the car with some more laps and some less dead tires. They corded the session after this, and felt pretty crap all day - understeer or oversteer, never multitasking or feeling good. Also the new GoPro seems to have some issue with the mic level or wind noise cancellation making the audio suuuuuper quiet for all but one turn.

Also ordered rear wheel bearings - getting some odd noises and a whole lot of pad knockback which was less than confidence inspiring. I just did the front bearings/hubs but the rears are original at 115k so I'll do that first before I head down the road of anti-knockback springs or something like that. I've never needed them in the past, not sure why this platform would be any different.

AR1’s corded in 3 days?? Yikes.
Nice improvement though for bad tires! Sounds like just dialing in some more maintenance will help a ton

MSR Cresson 1.7 CCW
1:21.545 AIM Solo
e92 DCT - heavy spec 3717lbs with driver - 265/645/18 DH Scrubs on 10" square Apex wheels
KW Clubsports - Stoptech St60 Fronts - Cobalt Friction XR1/XR3 pads - Gintani tuned

Slowly chipping away at faster times out at MSR! 15 minute sessions on a cool Saturday made it tricky to get the tires up to temp, but still had a fun time out there. Goal this year is to break into the 19's. Got a ways to go, but definitely a good stretch goal for the year!

Thanks! I’ve got some seats sitting here at home and a lightweight battery, so should shed around 100lbs soon. Just a matter of finding time to do the install! Lol

Remembered video this time but no CAN data for the overlay. Had to disconnect the AIM because I seem to be having CAN issues in the car since I dropped the AIM on the ground.....
