Help identify this engine noise

Sounds like knocking at idle, and while revving at idle, also while driving. What do you guys think this is?

I'm definitely not as much as an expert as others on here but that sounds like a good possibility it's rod knock. 6MT or DCT? If 6MT test pushing clutch in and out make sure it's not something to do with flywheel or throw out bearing. If possible try to listen around the engine and down low near oil pan to see if it does sound like noise is coming from the lower end. I would stop driving it for now.

All I can offer is it is unlikely clutch related...I've been listening to that noise for the life of my vehicle.

Lifters maybe? Kinda hard to hear from that audio. Try posting a sound video right next to your driver side front tire

There is no knock on the side of the car or bottom.. Do lifters make such noises found in the video?

try it again to 3K multiple time - if it gives a ratchet / slapping sound and you can feel it thru the shifter / vehicle, then it might be more like a base engine issue (not accessory).
