Hey Ryan,
I know it's a little too late this time, but... I would have been happy to do that exhaust work for you had I known. It wouldn't cost you more than a cup of coffee and whatever materials were needed. I do all of my own, my sons', friends, etc., welding, fabrication, custom exhaust work, etc. I'm set up for steel, and a good friend of mine locally is set up for all types of welding. He's been doing it since before electricity. He used to supervise the welding shop for McChord AFB for over thirty years. Between us, we have the whole, metal fabrication / welding thing pretty much under control. Now, if I can just figure out how to get an E92 running... Cheers, Tracy |

It's good to know for the other folks around here who might be interested who are closer to you than me (or Snohomish, where this shop is), though. This, however, might be good to know if I choose to do any other modification work with the exhaust. I'll keep this in my hip pocket. As far as your E92, still no love on figuring out what's going on? We really need to get your codes scanned. I know you have a cable coming, but it's from Japan, and it's gonna take some time (it'll be good for you to have for the future regardless). Is there nobody out there that can help Tracy out at least to check whatever codes are being kicked? I'm sure it would go a long way in determining what the core issue is.

Yeah yongj,
Nothing new here. I'm usually a day late and a dollar short! As for the "love", Ryan... I'm not really feelin it. That's OK though, I'll just wait for this glorified scanner to get here and HOPEFULLY, it'll start to get me in the right direction. Truth is, I need to come out of the dark ages and learn about this car. This situation just helps push me in that direction. (that probably sounded like I'm rationalizing) The only other thing that I can REALLY use right about now is a set of wiring diagrams for this specific car. I'm seeing all kinds of info. available for M's up through the E46, but, that's about it. That would help me tremendously to see the bigger picture, even without the specific codes being read out. As a sidebar to this, I was following a thread by a guy who goes by 'Sangria'. It's clear that he was having a hell of a time with his ride over the past year. He had an intermittent starting problem that was pretty hard for him to find. He didn't have much of a comfort level for the 'stealership' either so, he stayed persistent over many months of diagnostics. He just kept strokin' away at it himself till he finally resolved the problem. He posted up all of his findings on a regular basis in an effort to help others who might be having similar problems. I give him BIG props for not giving up, and, for sharing his knowledge with everybody along the way. I think that turned out to be a bad clutch sensor after all of the diagnostics. That's the kind of stuff that makes these forums a great resource. Tracy |

Hey Ryan,
I wanted to 'beat a dead horse' with you.... Where did you happen to get the info. or, come by the knowledge that fuse #16 was for the DME circuit in my specific car? You had also mentioned that you thought the HVAC system (might) be on that same fuse??? I see in the E46's that's generally the case, (fuse #15 actually) but, still can't find anything definitive for my specific car. There seems to be SIGNIFICANT differences in the circuits between these two different generations. For instance, the E46 still used a traditional, plug-in fuel injection relay, rather than an EKP module on the 'C'- pillar. I was hoping they'd be similar so I could move forward with diagnostics but, that doesn't appear to be the case. The later generation info. seems miserable to obtain unless you know the Pope personally! I'm still trying to find ANY info. from wiring diagrams to fault isolation info. and am having a miserable time trying to find definitive answers to these questions. I'm reasonably sure that I'll resolve the bigger issue if I can find specific info. for this fused circuit. I could be making some level of progress if I could actually follow the flow in either writing, or, in diagrams. I was hoping you could share where you got that info. from... Thanks, Tracy |

I'm south of Tacoma in Port Orchard, not sure how far that is from you but since you said Tacoma I figured I'd chime in

I wonder who is driving my old M3 around. It had super low miles on it and silverstone interior….. I know it came back to WA after I sold it to OR.

Yea, geographically it is, but since you keep going south on 5 to get there, I just say south from Tacoma. Usually leads to less explanation... certainly backfired this time huh?

Just moved to Seattle proper (Cap Hill) from San Diego. I feel like I'm the only M in the city...

Way more M3's outside of Seattle proper. Tons in Bellevue. Roads are terrible on the Seattle side, I don't think I could handle owning my car over there with that combined with traffic.

Did the same a year and a half ago, and I honestly can't wait to move back. The car scene alone here is so different that it's taken a lot out of me, but the roads, the traffic, the rain....ughhhhhhhhhh.

Interlagos blue e90 here. You might see me anywhere from Seatac to south Kirkland. Not so much in Seattle proper since a recent job change. I've got Lambo green painted stoptech trophies, so can be easy to spot if you are looking. I'll keep an eye out for the cars mentioned here!

The streets are pretty bad. Luckily I don't have to commute, I walk or take public trans. I've actually only driven my car 3 times for a total of less than 10 miles since we moved in the beginning of March and I've yet to hit redline. All of these factors, plus paying for parking, really has me questioning the point of keeping the M3... Quote:

That said, if things change, I can always head back. Liking it so far though! |
