thanks... Had my Bearings done three weeks ago, thus far, oil sensor has been steady at the top line of full. I don't have a way to lift the car, so hopefully it's something that can wait until I can get to my Indy hopefully tomorrow.

If you just had your bearings done and are now leaking oil I would assume that its your oil pan gasket. But you wont know for sure until you or the shop who did your bearings gets under there.

is that leak towards the rear of engine compartment? if so it could be the common post-rod bearing job leak coming from the trans bell housing as some oil from the pan can get trapped back there upon removal of the pan for service. there are a few threads regarding that scenario.

yes! it is towards the back. It's actually just in front of the doors, assuming my parking was consistent.. so, if this is the issue, I assume it's ok? I'll get it checked still I guess..

finally changed my plugs. didnt have a misfire or anything, just routine, but overdue maintenance. these have 47k miles on them. The consistancy of wear is a good sign that my dear S65 is living a healthy life!

I'm about to do my valve cover gasket's because there's a slight weep, should I do the plugs as pm? Car has 80k on it, purchased at a dealership 3 years and <4K miles ago. I don't know when/if they were changed last, what's the service interval on them? It's a weekend/track 3-4x a year car. Did you use NGK 4471's? Wasn't gonna change them just cuz but for $90 I guess I will. I was just never a believer on changing plugs on modern day cars for the sake of it..

NGK is the supplier for BMW, no point in buying the BMW branded ones.

I believe the service interval is 37.5k or 39.5k, I forget what people say. Doesn't kill to change them anyways if you think they haven't been done.

You should always change the plugs on a used vehicle you purchase, free up that power.

Been putting way too many miles on the M (~105k!), in both sh*tty weather, and piss poor road conditions. Was starting to get more and more frustrated.

Decided to buy a used beater with a full warranty (Camry Hybrid) so I could stop using the M3 for my daily commute and drive the sh*t out of it without worry.

My shop put it on a lift today.. It was coming from the top side of the engine, around the valve cover. Wasn't the cap, but since it was already covered in some oil, couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from.. they cleaned it up and will do a thorough inspection when I take it in for an oil change in a few weeks. Oil level is still full and they said no immediate issues with driving. I hope it's not a valve cover leak... I know nothing about that job, from what I've read today, looks like a pain in the wallet. Anyone have any other ideas?

Right on! What color is your M? I'll keep my peepers open for you. I love in LA but have work locations in OC.
