I already posted how; not really a secret. Also, this thread is about shipping speed, not Prime subscription fees.

Here is Amazon's explanation.

Some Amazon customers are frustrated that their packages are arriving late — and it reveals a giant misconception people have about Prime - Business Insider

AMZ using On Track in my area. The worst of the worst. Late deliveries, smashed boxes, boxes left at the wrong address, late shipments, etc. Complained to AMZ...useless.

That has always been my understanding but my recent experience is that it takes longer for them to ship than it did a year or two ago, their shipping timing does not always correspond to times indicated on product pages and checkout, and the common carriers are experiencing more delays of their own once they pick up packages (which is not always clear since Amazon sends emails that items have shipped once a shipping label has been printed).

We order and re-order from Amazon frequently and there is no question things have slowed down for our deliveries. There are some items that pretty clearly note delivery time will be longer, and I can't complain about those. But when I place an order and the product page and order confirmation say it should arrive on Wednesday, and my prior experience with the same item had a consistent delivery time frame, I am unhappy when it doesn't arrive on that day in the absence of a weather delay. So I don't think this is all a customer perception issue as Amazon appears to be trying to spin it.

Amzn is definitely spinning things here... they are a greedy company as i've mentioned many times... prime went up which they blamed on freight costs... o'rly? Where the fk are the packages I used to get in 2 days no prob now take 3 to 4? They are saving face, if their site promises by a certain day and it doesn't deliver, complain about a free month prime... they know they are in the wrong.

I've also seen them change the delivery date to a later date on the day that it was supposed to be delivered. I called them out on it and sent them an email that they sent me with the original delivery date, which they basically responded with "shit happens." They eventually refunded my money but I wasted my time not only ordering from them but also making that phone call to them for the refund.

Same - when I buy something same day or next day, I can count on an AMZ courier showing up at 8-9pm, despite having 2 warehouses within 25 miles.

First world complaining I guess.

Just bought a Samsung 970 Pro from B&H Photo. Same price as Amazon. Free shipping and I'll get it tomorrow without having to pay some membership BS. Oh and no sales tax being collected.
