Beware of vorsteiner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright so im starting this thread because i feel like i have been F'd over by Vorsteiner. Maybe i just have bad luck with the product or wish their terrible Sales Manager, but what i do know is this:
I purchased a Vorsteiner diffuser back in May 2018. Alot of things were going on so I couldn't install the diffuser until this Tuesday. My shop guy was saying that it might be a fake because he has dealt with hundreds of Vorsteiner parts and has never had fitment issues (which mine did), the decal on the inner side was imprinted into the carbon fiber (which mine was not), and the overall look was different. I thought that buying it from a trusted source (Vividracing.com) that i can rest assure knowing i have a legitimate piece, but i think ive been Fk'd. I contacted Vorsteiner and spoke to their sales manager. He said to send pics, so i did. He said they look real, but then he said something that truly got under my skin, " To be honest, its so old that no one here can 100% verify it."

WHAT THE FK DOES THAT MEAN????
guys/girls, please just watch out. I should have installed it last year so i could have returned it but hey, i fkd up.

I believe they sell fake/used/or extremely old items so please be careful when you want to buy from them. I will never in my life ever purchase anything from Vorsteiner, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to be a downer but how is this on Vorsteiner? You called them to verify the part and the manager couldn't verify it. Sure, maybe he should know a bit more about their own product but wouldn't this be on vivid for selling you the piece in the first place?

Or are you saying vorsteiner sold vivid fakes and in turn vivid sold you the fake?

Yep, take it up with Vivid. The Vorsteiner response is shitty, but I think what they're getting at is that the replicas are getting so good that they can't really tell if it's real without having it in their possession.

I heard Vorsteiner parts fitment is really hit-or-miss, even if it's an authentic part. This from both a body shop in Boston and a shop I frequent here in NorCal.

I was lucky that my Vorsteiner Type II rear diffuser fit well. I've seen someone's horry story of the legit front bumper fitting like crap and cracking on its own.

You’d have an easier time talking to a tree than dealing with vivid.

Yeah they do unfortunately. I had an authentic GTS-V diffuser ($1100) and it fit way worse than the RW Carbon diffuser ($450) I settled on. I tried 3... the Vorsteiner fit maybe 70%, I tried a JL Motoring Type II that fit about 80%, and the RW Carbon Arkym style is 95%.

My genuine Vorsteiner GTS V diffuser doesn't fit for shit. It's just hard to tell from pictures.

The fitment on my Vorsteiner trunk is kinda okay but it seems like your issue, like the others have said, is with Vivid.

Is this your first time modding? Surprise! .. a lot of stuff needs adjusting. You are actually quite lucky if you find something that fits right away with no fuss.. authentic or not.

That diffuser and the original Vorsteiner front lip were probably the first aftermarket body enhancements available for the car 11 years ago. So when they say it's old they probably mean that. Car might be new to you but e9x's are on the cusp of being 2 generations old now. Some of the Vorsteiner stuff has also been long discontinued for e9x..I still look here every day hoping their original discontinued CF hood would show up used and geographically close by so I can pick it up without hassle. BTW, I owned this hood before and it needed some adjusting and shims to fit right which is quite normal but the finish and craftsmanship was flawless on the piece.

I understand you're going through an emotional roller coaster but as others have said, try contacting Vivid (which also sucks). They were the ones that sold you, not Vorsteiner lol. Also, its asking for someone to authentic a piece from pictures is asking for a lot. I'd much rather have them be honest and say they can't 100% authenticate it rather than have them lie to me about the authenticity.
