Brand new BE bearings/ bolts quality check

Just got the items from the title delivered. They arrived in generic - looking packaging, which might normal(?), but, also, all the bearings have visible wear marks on the inner diameter, which has me concerned.

Is that normal?

Run the edge of your nail on it, if you can feel a noticeable difference in the surface reject it. If not it’s fine rod bearing shells have markings on the surface from production.

For how important they are and how much they cost, I would be demanding a perfect set. To me it wouldn’t matter if it’s just cosmetic or not.

Negative the marking is from measuring the bearings.

This^^^ that's what your paying for.. see how they're even sorted upper and lower.. cuz someone took time after they were manufactured to measure them and match you a set..

Thanks for the input. Apparently, that's normal. Here is the reply from BE Bearings:

"Every single shell should have such marks because we measure and bin every single shell. Unless they penetrate to the next layer, this is normal."

I literally was making this exact thread on Monday when i received my BE bearings. Right before i posted i called my vendor because every single shell was marked like that. I figured it was a quality control technique but i needed to make sure. 1st guy i spoke with didnt know anything about that so my heart sank. After he called a coworker over it was explained that its from being measured at the manufacture and not to worry. You are good to go!
