Probably because most BMW owners don't want to cut the connectors off the cars factory wiring harness. They also don't want to settle for shitty fitment in the door panels or something that will rattle either. Mix in the fact that the factory speakers aren't that bad and what did you gain? I hear you on the pricing though. If you want to save a buck so bad why not check with your local salvage yard and buy speakers from a wrecked car? Fit perfect and probably cheaper. Anything other and you gotta pay to play bud. You realize that the speakers don't wire to the deck right? The amp is in the trunk and it's signal is a digital fiber link.
