Damn, if I only would have known, could have skipped replacing the shells.

Would really like to know the maintenance history on your car

I'm at 110k and would love to be part of the 200k club. Rather drive mine into the ground than let it sit tucked away...

I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. Oil changes, plugs, filters, etc. Rod bearings at 147k, looked ok. Alternator, fan assembly, gas cap latch, Turner front skid plate, TIRES, TIRES, TIRES. Fix what's broken.

It's a good car.

I regularly change plugs every 40,000 and oil every 6,000 with LiquiMoly 10w-60. I’m one of those people who lets the oil warm up before I bring it above 4500 rpm. One TA at 91k. Other still factory. I have brake, manual transmission and brake fluid changed every spring...it’s cheap enough for having fresh fluid. Daily driver but no track time.
what fluids do you use for MTF, Diff, and Brake?

2008 M3  [0.00]
2008 6mt - 195K miles.

Major work -
Replaced bearing at -147K (or maybe higher, I have to search my own threads). Bearings were worn down into the copper.

Replaced throttle actuators.

Current known issues:
- Oil blow by only noticeable when driving 80MPH or above. Note: owned the car since 22K miles and as we know, the oil may need tipping off occasionally. I really believe, my car has always had blow by and that is why it needed oil at times. I just feel it is far worse now.

- 1st start after EVERY fill-up, it struggles to start. Need to replace the fuel evap something.

Mods -
- MPE (currently)
- AA catback (now sitting in my closet, need to clean it and sale it).

Plans:
Bought an old Jeep Grand Cherokee for commuting. Enjoy the m3 when I want and eventually, replace the engine and have fun again.

Cheers

Uh, no...there are 50 E9x M3s on Autotrader with asking prices of less than $20k, with less than 150k miles. They start about $13k.

I wouldn't sell mine for less than 20 now or any time in the future.

I expect the prices to be strong and going up over the next 5 to 10 years.

That might be true, but it doesn't change the market value or make any sense to treat $20k as a fire sale price on a fair condition cars--they start in the low to mid teens these days.

I guess we'll find out but that doesn't mean you can't buy E9x M3s for $20k all day long right now.

Just got delivery of my NEW to me 2008 IB coupe. Its currently in SV Bimmer getting ALL oils changed Liquimoly/redline and the BE Bearings changed BEFORE i do anything at all.
Its got 78k miles,

And my 2cents, I chuckle when i hear 90k as HIGH mileage..
my E36 M3 ( at 280k miles, currently selling it)...PULLS like a demon, STILL.
All the M engines are BUILT to last HIGH mileage, just take care of her, and she will do the same for you

Very similar spec to mine. If you don't mind sharing, how much did you pay for it?

I haven't driven our 2008 E90 M3 a ton of late, we purchased an 2012 E70 X5 35D, but I felt bad about the M sitting for a couple weeks and took it for a 45 min. drive and it just turned over 115,000 miles, it's our daily driver, unless its snowing.
TA's replaced at 88,000, weeks after purchase, one was bad.
Starter replaced in the 95,000-100,000 mile range
AFAIK, still factory RB's
Water pump, therm replaced in the 105,000-110,000 range
We change the oil and filter every 6,000 miles.
It's actually been a great running vehicle, we are coming up on the 120,000 mile maintenance items, so, that should be fun!

'08 E90 approaching 110,000 miles.

- A TBA failed at 104K. The dash lit up like a christmas tree. Replaced it with the Siemens OEM part and upgraded the gears in the other one
- Replacing the original clutch and dual mass flywheel. Minimal slippage but feels like time to do it. Found the parts for less than $800.
- Still factory rod bearings
