Just got my car back from Dealer, they "siliconed all door weatherstrips".
I drove 40 miles today and so far the creaking and body flex noise is gone even when pulling out of my driveway.

On Monday, I will ask the Dealer what silicone spray they used.

Good to hear. Please let us know what your dealer used. Thanks!

There needs to be a STICKY on this creaking.

This happens on every car, E90/E92, though seems to be more prevalant on E90's. Like said above it is comig from the window jams/sealant. All you need is a micro fiber towel, damp or not, and running it over the rubber material that cradles the window glass and the door itself. This method works for a good 4-6 months, then just do it again when the creaking comes back.

Yeah, this is great news on the silicon spray from the dealer. I don't like my car making noises like it's an old worn out mattress seeing some action. I'm going to the dealer next week.

Another thing to try is removing the plastic trim around the seats... this area squeaks badly sometimes and it sound like it is coming from the door. I have been in M3s where this was VERY bad... luckily my two were good... but the shifting of your weight in the seat would cause a very pronounced squeak on some M3s.

I would really avoid silicone on the seals... not good long term. Get some Gummipledge (sp?) which is water based and works better in my experience.

My car has that too, but coming from the rear deck on the passenger side. Only coming down or going up my driveway. No biggie, I think that every car is going to squeak and creak every so often on uneven pavement. My 0.02cents.

My 2010 E92 driver's side door squeaks and rattles almost every minute and it is very annoying. It sounds like some loose plastic rings "floating" but i suspect it has something to do with the rubber seals given when i lower the window a bit, the sound seems to be gone or lowered. Will try the silicone spray on all the rubber seals and see. hopefully, dealer in HK is not too helpful.

just can't believe a car at this price will have this kind of feature to come with it. (in HK, they sell the Ms with a significant premium compare to other countries like US and Canada).

Would it be possible for you to post some pics on what rubber pieces need to be wiped down? Does the window need to be rolled down to access these rubber seals? I just want some clarification. Thanks!

The usual fix the creaking noise if its from your door panel is felt tape. They'll probably road test and try to isolate and verify the noise. Take out the door panel and felt tape that baby up and go for another road test.

Well, for E92s, there is no weather stripping up top since there is no top frame to frame the top edge of the window. On the E90, there is a door frame (including the top), with the weather stripping. So the E90 has the weather stripping on left, top, and right sides of the window. There shouldn't be a need to roll down the windows of the E90 or E92 to access the weather strips.

Thanks for the details.

I'll wipe down the weather stripping pieces on both the door and the car with a microfiber cloth and see if that helps anything. I want to avoid taping stuff on these rubber pieces and avoid using chemicals that could dry them out sooner.

The strangest thing. I washed my car yesterday (as I do every Sat), and the squeeking has almost disappeared. So it may be that the rubber was drying out and got dampened when I was washing my car. I'll see how the week goes by and see if the noise comes out. Regardless, I'm going to the dealership next week to get the silicone applied. I don't see what the big harm of silicon is....it's greasy stuff. Once applied, it should not dry out for years and it's not gonna eat away your weather strips...it's not caustic like acid or anything potent like that!

My 2008 E90 M3 had no squeaks or creaking noises (or course, this car had extended novillo leather, which wraps the entire door with leather).

I'm wondering if other members have a squeaking or creaking noises in their doors. And if you do, specify if you have extended leather or not.

It's so annoying that I'm taking it into the dealership in a week.

i have an e90 2009 with 10k,just had my e90 door squeking sorted out by the dealer, squeking is gone ,they said its the door seal that made the sound when the cars body flexes, thus manifested when turning the car and on bumpy roads.this happens when it gets contaminated with wax etc etc and with build up of silicone around them( i thought silicone is supposed to make thing slippery or unstuck)Well they got sorted so i believe them.Hope that this helps

Sorry, no. I took it in complaining about squeaking everywhere inside the car, they looked at it and determined that it's the door seals, did their thing and told me afterwards that they lubed it. So, I'm guessing they used whatever BMW dealers use...

You could be onto something. In my case, the squeaking started about 3 to 4 days after a terrible experience at a "hand car wash" place. Those numbnuts, to make up for the initial f'up, gave me a detailing job, but after a number of days, you can tell all they did was apply a ton of wax to cover up the swirl marks. Anyhow, I'm thinking some sh*t they used during the detailing job filtrated into the door edges, and onto the rubber door seals/weather strippings, dried up, and started causing the squeaking. If that was the case, the dealer telling me that lubing the door seals fixed the issue makes sense to me.

I have a 2011 e92 and have an annoying rattle right below the nav screen somewhere in the air vents...do you have this rattle?

I'm dying to find out how to fix. Sorry for the OT but just letting you e90 guys know...you're not alone!

Thanks, this is very helpful. I just had my car detailed/waxed 3 wks ago and the creak/squeak got much worse. I will bring it in and have them take a look.

Lube the door seals with this.

I found out that when the seals "dry" up and touch the body frame of the car it will squeak.

Don't over-lube it since it can get onto clothing when people get into your car; your passengers will think you're having too much "fun" with the car.
