400+ WHP E92 M3 on Ethanol [Flex Fuel]
As the title says, my car has been able to hit the 400+ Wheel HP mark thanks to Gintani, American Racing headers & Advanced Fuel Dynamics.
Previously, the car had the E-Flash software by ESS Tuning and has been running great for 4 years (almost 50,000 Km's); but after installing the headers and the flex fuel kit, I was convinced a re-tune will yield some more power out of the car. Kinetechnik Motorsport, the Gintani UAE dealer took care of everything in no time. I went for a baseline dyno run on Thursday night and the car pulled 343.5 HP (did 4 runs and all were around the same number). Logging the AFR we noticed that the car goes lean mid range (not sure the cause of that) but Alex (Gintani) confirmed that he should have this fixed with his tune. Saturday morning we were on the dyno and Alex was online in parellel working his magic. Six hours later we had the first dyno run of the day with the Gintani Custom tune (374.4 HP to the wheels on 93 Octane). Few runs later we confirmed the same number above; so we decided to add Ethanol E65 blend (roughly) in the car and see the AFD Flex Fuel Kit put to work and 406.4 HP happened! The software provided by Gintani is a 93 octane tune that works hand in hand with the flex fuel kit from Advanced Fuel Dynamics (so you can run straight pump gas or any Ethanol blend (up to 85% E85 I think as per AFD's confirmation). Below is the link to my other thread that has the list of all the modifications on my car: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1272929 For more videos and updates on the car, follow m3jimmy on instagram Last edited by Ahmed Jimmy; 06-18-2017 at 05:43 AM.. |

Great numbers!
Did the 343hp already include the headers? Do you plan on running full e85? And perhaps redynoing? |

Not sure really, but I have seen n/a E92 M3's doing 400+ WHP as well.
I will be doing another run soon on a Dyno Jet (just to have a fair comparison with most M3's that are dynoed here) and I am guessing the number should be close to 425WHP, maybe a record then? Last edited by Ahmed Jimmy; 06-21-2017 at 04:54 AM.. |

Running full E85 is possible with a specific tune for it. The FF kit by Advanced Fuel Dynamics works up to 80%-85% E85 only (roughly an E70 blend). The advantage for running the kit is that are you are able to run any blend or straight pump gas and not having to change anything in the car including software (tune). Good news is Gintani has such a specific E85 tune and will be trying it out soon, will keep this thread updated. cheers, A.J. |

Thanks, I am not really sure, I bought it of a member here on the forums. Its a GT4 lip, been on the car for a couple of years now and has brake ducts connected to it for cooling. I run Apex EC-7 ET25. Cheers, A.J. |

good job!
waht kind of dyno is it though? and we already get shitty ass mileage on 91, E85 probably worth 3 laps at best

Consumption is at least doubled using E85, I can do 5 laps (+1 outlap & +1 cool down) on 80% full tank on the Yas GP 5.55KM circuit running pump/e85 blend (roughly e70). |

Thanks for sharing your experience, may follow your lead at some point. Need to see if there is E85 near COTA.

Damn impressive and congrats. Its seems the fuel mod is about 1200, headers 5k and tune another 800-1k?
If its roughly 7 grand that's an ok deal compared to the power for 3k more on a ESS setup. That is of course unless you got the hook up on your hardware and installation. Either way, nice work man.

I saw a lot of guys at the track with e9x running ESS and even one with the active autowerke super charger. That is a pretty nice NA setup though. Is there a more affordable option for headers?
