Arrow Bill Of Sale ???

I've been to a lot of dealers in new york and they all say I can only get put on a waiting list, not actually place an order yet. I am interested with an e92 M3 with DCT(DKG). I have seen pictures of people posting the status of there car from the BMW OC (owners cirlce) website. However I have not seen any bill of sales. Can someone prove to me that there order is legit and post a bill of sale.

bill of sales are given when the customer recieves the car and signs the BILL OF SALE...certifing that he/she is responsible for payment of the car either to the title holder (bank loan/finance company) or if paid in full (dealer)...this would also make the title of the vehicle not have a lein on it...HTH

Perhaps a "bill of sale" was the wrong phrase a purchase order is what I meant or for that matter any documentaion from the dealer showing that they actually accepted an order.

I've bought / leased 30+ cars in my life and everything has documentation. I have not seen any for this car (e92M3) .

I'm not sure what your intent is. If you put down money and place a "pre-order", the dealer will generically describe a vehicle, like "fully-optioned M3 Coupe" and give you a copy of the purchase order. Make sure the price is specified as "MSRP". When your turn comes up for an allocation the dealer has, he will alter the specs of the allocated car to suit your specs and it will get a production number after the order is accepted.

I got a Purchase Order from my dealer 10/05 when I placed my pre-order, and just got a production number after Christmas.

That's because it is imaginary and BMW is tricking all of us into thinking we are actually ordering a car with their "order inputs", "production numbers", and "status codes" nonsense. When they have all of our money, they will close shop and run off to a private island somewhere.

Seriously, what is the point of this thread?

What I have in my hands is purchase order document with my name on it showing I have placed a deposit in the amount of $1000 for a 2008 E92 M3 with a series of specifications. In the notes section, I had them write that the car will be sold at MSRP and I have the #4 slot on the dealer's waiting list.

Is that the kind of thing you are looking for? If so, how would that help you? I must say I am confused.

To explain one more time, you cannot place an ORDER unless the dealer has an available allocation. Most any dealer will take your $500-1000 deposit for a PRE-ORDER, which is a spot on a waiting list that may mean slightly different things at different dealers, depending on how scrupulous they are. They will then give you a purchase order confirming your intent to buy. If a dealer will not take your deposit for a spot on a waiting list it usually means they are going to speculate and mark up the first cars they get. Go out of your area if you are not getting satisfaction from local dealers.

Now leave us alone!
