I just came in to open the same thread!

The price seems too good to be true, 10k lb forged! Very impressive!

I just need them to build an 11" rear that fits in the rear of the E92 and we're golden!

Yeah would be nice. For me they have the standard 18.10.25. Wonder if they can make et20.

Nice wheels for the price and good to have another option.

They even have "Knurled bead seat to minimize tire slippage with higher-powered cars and under heavy braking."

Seriously though, I thought only the new z/28 had that problem:

How are they better than apex wheels?
These wheels dont look as good as apex imo, weigh about the same but cost a lot more

Apex are flow formed.

These are forged...

Flow formed is pretty light weight and strong but forged is stronger, lighter, and costlier to make

This vs the equivalent Arc8 wheel is only 0.5lb/corner, however, Apex recommends the EC7 for these 'heavier cars' which is like 2lb/corner heavier. That is very significant.

I should also mention, that even though Apex is flow formed there are other pro's to getting Apex.

Since they've been around for a long time if you every bend or brake a rim you don't have to buy 4 all new rims... just replace what broke. Teal seems new and who knows if they will be around 4 years from now. If you bend that rim you'll need a whole new set if you can't find the same rim. OTOH is you manage to break a forged rim I'm sure getting a matching rim is gonna be your lowest concern at that point.

Also with Apex I think they have a program where if you bend a rim you can send it back and buy a new one at 1/2 price.

Forged wheels are very expensive to manufacture, i agree, but Apex wheels are almost as light and have been around for a few years now.
I have never heared anything negative about them and have been using ARC-8 wheels on e92m3 and 135i as my track only wheels for years without any issues.

The apex wheels are also pretty durable tbh. My track wheels have taken enormous punishment and been totally fine.

Don't get me wrong, I own 3 sets of Arc8s and really like them.

That doesn't change that Apex suggests the EC7 for our cars and their new developments (11" rear) are only in the EC7.

We're not doing any custom offsets at this time, but we may have other sizes in the future. Likely something a bit smaller so we have them to run on our pro cars. We'll have more photos to post soon - likely next week.

I wish these were a different style than the ARC8s or EC7s. The ARC8s from my experience are plenty strong enough and forged wheels aren't necessary. I'm not ditching my ARC8 for these but it looks like a nice wheel if I needed something new.

From what I've seen and experienced...I don't think tires rotating itself on the wheel being a huge issue. Not unless it is causing a loss of tire pressure. I've seen cases of losing pressure from hitting a curb or bump while sliding sideways and momentarily causing air to get past the rim/tire bead.

You'd have to rotate the tire quite a bit to throw off the balance enough to notice. I don't see that happening with ABS.

I have run ARC8 on my 08M3 since 2011. No issues. Good quality, durability, lightness, and price. But titanium or real forged or carbon fiber is stronger and lighter if you feel you need the strength and lightness and can afford the higher cost.

I'm pleased to see there is another option. Hopefully more durable than the Apex line. Maybe some of you have not bent a wheel but it does happen. Wheels become a consumable as you become more serious than a casual HPDE participant.

Yep me enkeis bent a tad and was able to rebalance and just go. My Apex bent pretty badly on a way less harsher impact.

I have to ask even though you prob can't answer. These seem to be made by rays. With the VIA certification and them being one of your race wheel suppliers as well as the 10k press. If that's true, these are damn fine wheels for a great price. So, who makes them?
