iPhone 7 Aux Connection Issue

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have an iPhone 7 (OS 11) and the Aux USB interface in center console. Has always played my iPod flawlessly. I recently purchased an Apple adapter so I could connect my iPhone to the aux input. Worked fine for a few minutes then abruptly switched to FM radio. I tried a few more times and it would sometimes stay connected for a few minutes then did the same thing. Saw some threads on here about the tune2air so I bought that. Paired it this morning, played for about 30 seconds then my car did the same thing and switched over to FM radio. I tried it with the phone in the console and with the phone in the seat. Same thing. Any ideas? My car is a 2008. I also have the enhanced hi end audio system.

I get the same issue with an aux wire with iPhone 7 (08 M3). I'd say it works perfectly 95% of the time but once every two weeks, it acts up and doesn't recognize my phone or it'll play for half a second and then cut out. Works fine the next day or when I restart the car.

Curious if anyone has found a solution to this.

I have had Exactly the same experience. Today it worked flawlessly going to/from work.

The aux is controlled by combox or mulf2hi. If your cars are changing from aux to another function, I would think you have problems with combox or mulf ECU's. For newer iPhones phones I have found this part helps.

Never. I feel like the combox or Mulf2hi is geeking, so the CIC switches to another input.
