Thanks to another member in here, I had the full suite of BMW tools on my Windows 10 laptop to include ISTA+. Long story short, my laptop monitor died and I had to replace the whole she-bang.
So, I spent all day and night Saturday getting the software from my old hard drive to the new. Good God! Bimmergeeks made it look so easy. Had to install .net framework, and work through numerous compatibility issues. Rewrite .ini files, ensure files were where they needed to be until finally last night all the software was open.
Today was the big test. No communication between the car and my laptop. Ugh! A little research pointed at the OBD.ini file being misplaced and had to configure the USB 2.0 port. And ...... success. INPA worked, NCSExper to code the Warning off the CCC, and then ISTA+ for some diagnostics. Found the FRM had a stored fault for a bad Angel Eye light (even though I cleared it using Carly).

It's a K+DCAN cable. I think it came off of EBay. It's been 4 years ago so...

I'm going to have to bite the bullet and tackle this one soon as well.
The old xp laptop is on its last leg.

You can’t afford NOT to. The software has been invaluable to me.

I couldn't agree more, I've used them a lot.
Its just that the old laptop is dying a slow death, and I'm not looking forward to setting up a new one with win10.

ISTA is now up to 4.10.41 but the E9x chassis stop receiving updates sometime in 2016.
