Third Brake Light Failure

Hi All,

First thread here; tried a search but couldn't find any obvious answers.

I've had my MY10 E92 M3 for almost a year now, didn't realize my centre/third brake light wasn't working until I did an error code scan via Carly, and then visually confirming it.

Error code is as follows:

Fussraummodul /FRM
:Stoplight center defective
Code: 00A8B8

Anyway, I looked up the part and it's around AUD$150 which is OK, but not exactly a very cheap part that I can just buy and test/replace.

I'm sceptical that an LED based light bar could fail on a car that isn't that old, and always been parked under cover/garaged, etc. so I was wondering whether or not this is a common wear/replace item.

Basically if a few of you out there have had to replace it, then it gives me confidence that's all I need to do as well.

Thanks in advance all!
