Lets see those custom Engine Start/Stop Buttons!

My start/stop button is starting to peel and looking for some ideas to customize it a little. Something tasteful... any ideas?

What is required to remove this button? My interior is nearly perfect except for the cheap-ass black paint surrounding the Start/Stop button...

Exactly, I think its pretty easy...
I want some ideas for what others have done, maybe paint match the outer ring to the car color or something?

There may also be some compatible non-///M Start buttons with an all bare metal bezel and no black paint. I've seen 'em on other BMWs without the crappy painted area.

I dunno about your car but my M3 start button looks like this. There is no plastic surround... what are you talking about?

Found this OEM piece awhile back on the ECS website...this one is normally found on BMW Individual models. Thought it looked pretty cool so I said why not.

The button changed in 2010+. I prefer the predecessor.

Super easy. Just pull the trim out and unplug the switch.

Think it might be cool to make it red or something

I bought it last year from ECS...they only had a small amount of them too. Got lucky and swooped one up!

Mine is peeling/chipping a little too. I'm not pleased.

It reminds me of that black rubbery material that would rub off the door inserts of my e46 m.

Let's get some links going to replacement options. Pulling the trim is easy mode. You just have to know where the clips are and have the stomach to pull like you don't care if it breaks.

Id actually like to get just a like bezel, put 2 usb charging ports in it, and mount it on the opposite side of the center duct cluster. Mirrored to the start button.

Anyone know if i can get just a bezel or something like it?
