Used =20% back of invoice. figure out what invoice was then subtract 20%
Another way is to find out is see what they are selling for at auction, should be pretty close.

Just my humble opinion.

I remember seeing several used low mileage(low 100s) M3's selling for 10K to 12K off the original MSRP.

The car is considered USED. If the dealer cannot sell the car in a reasonable time frame they more then likely will bring it to auction.
Hence the reason to check what they are selling for at auction!

If they do sell it at auction they will have to pay a fee anyway.
Further more, that's what the dealer would offer you if the tables were turned!

how can i check how much they are going for on auction?
cuz at $51K that's a great deal
cheaper than the new one i want that doesn't have premium sound or tech package
i would just be missing carbon fiber roof
but for a 9K saving i can live with steel roof
heck i'll lose the 45lb weight saving

My guess would be 55 to 57K. You can always start low!

Is it just me or are there a ton of overpriced used M3s on autotrader and ebay? I'm talking 6MTs with 3000+ miles and no tech package for $68000+. Seems a bit outlandish to me.

Unless the seller has to sell today or they are going to kill his babies, you won't have that car for $51k. If the market was not in such bad shape, you probably couldn't have it for less than $60k. Given that the market sucks, I'd say $56-58k range would be reasonable.

If you have a friend at ANY car dealership have them check the Mannheim web site. It will tell them what every M3 sold for and how much mileage the car had on it.

If not, when I have time I will ask one of my friends to do it. Just PM me with your location so I know what region you are in.

I would make an offer of $55k, but expect to pay a bit more.

They are all over the board on Autotrader.com. There are fully loaded cars starting around $57K with all options. I would start at $55K and see what happens.

OK, Just looked a few minutes ago at the latest auction prices for you.

There have been about 20, 2008 cars run through since Jul. Most are 6 spd. They are bringing anywhere from 52 to 62k, the later being the DCT. The majority are all Alpine white, and have less then 2000 miles. The most expensive have been sold on the EAST COAST, The cheaper cars were auctioned off in Las Vegas.

There were only 3 M3 CP sold in the last 2 months 53k 54k, for the 6 Sp, and 61K for a DCT

Hope this helps
