Ab,
Hopefully we meet up this weekend and you can take her on a highway J2M, Thanks! FlipM3, These runs were actually my only ones in 5th gear as I read this was recommended by others with DCT. My runs a couple days ago were in 4th gear and the outcome was the same - 582whp. No torque reading as the operator failed to hook it up. He also failed to record the run right before my highest which would have been interesting to see if it could have hit 586. Of course it's only a 4hp difference but would be nice to have the data. Basically no difference between 4th & 5th gear pulls unless the torque numbers would have been different. I will make this clear on my write up. I guess I have 3 "different" dynos confirming the same result Oh and thank you for the very kind words!!

Just for comparison here are what the charts look like with smoothing set to 3 and 5. I haven't seen really any posts besides the new Active blower with smoothing set to 0. Does anyone have some comparisons that they can post with other kits or even cars showing the difference? I'm trying to see if the small difference is the norm or if it's usually more drastic. I'm not trying to imply anything about a kit being better, just curious as I am new to the DynoJet.

Thanks man and very nice! Wow what an even & interesting run it would be between the two. Virtually the same numbers. Very solid & consistent! Not sure if you have access or know but is there much of a difference when changing the smoothing to 0? I noticed a slight change in mine between the different smoothing settings and wasn't sure how other DynoJet logs compare. Just curious of course, not meant to be anything else

594whp 381wtq SAE on 8psi?! WOWZA! Is this a different tune and setup than what you and Sal@AutoCouture ran in this thread? http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=744779 Sorry to go off topic. But man, all these dyno graphs are TRULY impressive, even more so are your acceleration numbers! There must ben something in the air over there in the East Coast because you all have some blistering fast M3s!

Thanks man - I'm very pleased with how the kit is running. Extremely smooth. I'm a little surprised with the dynos as I had thought that the ESS kit has more of a top end advantage and the AA kit low/mid. Have heard this from users from different kits, etc. in an informative way. Maybe I'm missing something? I know the redline is a bit lower on my car - 8100.
I'm running at 9PSI. Here's a video of my dyno @ MaximumPSI in Linden who does my engine work. Their dyno reads ~10% lower like some others. [u2b]http://youtu.be/BPt2l-EbgrQ[/u2b] Looking forward to seeing your VT3 build! Just when I thought I caught up to you...

Side note: Be sure to keep an eye on your meth cause 9psi and meth failing is danger zone . Try and find a 650 to run and get video I'm curious to see how things play out on the black top considering power levels are close Race sal !! |

Nice Dyno M33. They look extremely similar. Only real difference is M33 has another 400-500 rpm.

Thanks bud - will do. I always keep my meth tank full and the car isn't tuned for meth, it's just used for cooling. I think 9psi is pretty safe - aren't you and Sal at 8.5 psi? I don't think Sal runs meth. It was mentioned in the link posted above from the dyno day. Are you planning on keeping the meth with the VT3 build? Regardless of what kit I was upgrading to I wanted to have meth - a ton of positives and not really any negatives especially if you aren't tuned for it. BTW I've been nagging Sal for a run for weeks - just been waiting on his BBK as he has been brakeless.
Lenz, Thanks man! Schnell, Thank you too sir! Andrew, Good idea. Will get to that when I have an extra minute. Quote:

Keep in mind these results are on a non meth tune... You really need a meth tune to take advantage of added power but..... If something fails your shit out of luck , not with it IMO ... Let me know if you guys run My best pulls when racing are 3 pulls then some cool time and a repeat of the 3 pulls... |

Had a free minute and made the comparison graph. Note that the Dynos were pulled from s65dynos.com.
The blue line is my car. The red line is from M33 and the exact information pulled from the site says: "ESS-VT2650 @ 8.50 PSI, +METH, CAT200, CATDL1, XPCHLG, EXMGT2, 93US, DCT" The green line is from M33 and the exact information pulled from the site says: "SC-ESSVT2-625 @ 7.40 PSI, CATDEL, EXEITI, 93US, 6MT" When you see the graphs like this is makes more sense as to what people with both kits have been telling me: the AA has a mid range advantage and the 650 has a top end advantage. Should make for a really interesting run. Where's Sal???
