that's a wrap
what the issue with the fact that it's vinyl as opposed to paint?
if its done well it looks great

keeping the paint in tip top shape was another side benefit, not the main reason you would do a wrap

I think it would be alright. I mean, we'd all have to see it first. But I don't think it'll be nearly as bad as everyone's expecting.

I hadn't read that before but I can see how it might be true with the full or extended as it can be a bit in your face with some exterior colors. I have the SG with fox red/black/black and have got nothing but compliments on it. I mean the "oh my god I love those brick accents" comments not just "my that is an interesting interior" type stuff. I'm pretty sure it will sell just fine.

I didn't say it couldn't be done well, I said it's ricey and silly. In this case I would be horribly disappointed to learn the car wasn't an Individual color but just encased in a "car condom". Why not throw some seat covers in it as well to protect the leather?

You are right that most people who I have seen wrapping a car do tend to be in the younger crowd, and in SoCal lol

I like Archie's car above a lot

I personally wouldn't buy Dakar yellow (or any indv color) and wrap it... but if I ever got bored of my color and wanted to change it up, a wrap is the best way IMO

I also like R's Tuning's track car:

It was red, he was bored (I think lol) and wanted white so he got white lol

well if it's done well
how is it ricey and silly?

you're contradicting yourself now

by definition, if it's done well, it means it's hard to tell if its a wrap or not
so if you can't tell it's a wrap, how can you tell it's ricey?
or is this just a mental thing?

After I install my Big Foot Gas Pedal:

and get my new Eight Ball Shift Knob rollin':

I'll think about wrapping my whole car in vinyl.

OP...

Don't feel bad about backing out. Cancel what you want. Dealerships never do a damn thing more than they have to for us. If you have an out and you want out, then get out.

That baby is going to scream sitting there in the showroom. No matter how ugly the combo, someone will buy it and the dealership will make its money.

Dude, I'm not going to argue with you. Quality and beauty are not the same thing. 5% mirror tint can be installed correctly but that doesn't mean it's not ghetto and looks like crap. Like I said in my original post, it's just an opinion. Wrap all you want if you feel it looks good.

Has anyone here not been screwed by some dealership? They're mostly sharks out there to get money and not care... with all the horror stories, I don't see why anyone would ever want to do a dealership right..

Some dealerships go above and beyond...(like stbmw) but 95% of dealerships out there (from my personal experience) don't deserve any sort of sympathy

wowzers, some of y'all are harsh w/ your comments... gotta love the internet.
well, i'm not here asking to be absolved of my "crime." i was already expecting/preparing myself for those select few (douchebags, was it?) to make their choice comments & i'm fine with that. i won't lose any sleep or feel the least bit distressed by any of these computer fightin' words.
i do however truly feel bad for the dilemma i put my dealership through and this is the sole reason for me posting this thread: Exposure is the only way i can help sell this car so that's what i'm doing

vehicle is a 6MT btw...

I can say with certainty that the ONLY dealerships I've ever been screwed by are the ones that I used for maintenance/parts after a purchase. It is also just a coincidence that they are all located in Pleasanton, but I digress...

All dealerships from which I have purchased a vehicle have done nothing but bend over backwards to help. This includes Stevens Creek for my old Integra and my wife's Altima, Mountain View for a 325i and the M3, Walnut Creek Toyota for my wife's Highlander and Livermore Honda for my S2k. (I guess that list sort of narrows which dealers I've had issues with now, doesn't it? I have had a great experience "window shopping" for an ISF and for a C63 there, however.)

Unless you are getting the deal of the century it doesn't pay to work with someone that you can't trust. Walk away if you even feel that you are likely to get screwed by a dealer. They don't deserve your business and you don't deserve the headache.

Somehow that doesn't look like I would have expected. Perhaps the Ronald McDonald picture had me thinking it would be a train wreck. It actually doesn't look bad.

I guess you've had better experience

There are some good dealers, but I have personally dealt with dozens of salesman and dozens of different dealerships (from BMWs to Hondas to Ferraris to Hyundais).. and the majority are there only to make a profit (obviously) and not build a relationships (I.e. treat you great without ripping you off).

I do have to say that, although I have personally not done business with them (yet), my favorite (used) car dealer is EuroCar in OC. Hands down some of the most professional people I have ever met in this business. Though it would be better if they knew a bit more about each of the cars lol.

New car dealer... STBMW has always treated me great, even though I haven't done business with them (yet).

Most dealers though (from my experience).... couldn't care less about their customers, which is sad
