Awesome! You still looking for a seat? Think you asked about wheels not long ago too - I'm going to hang onto those for a bit & let one of the guys at the shop that just picked up an E90 use them at the track. You're welcome to test fit any of them though if you have any questions on fitment.

Lucky! I wanted manual sliders so badly. BK mounts are awesome though. Post pics
I bought some i3 manual seat bases on EBay, even negotiated for a better price, they fit the e9x and probably f8x as well.

Interested to hear how everyone is passing time!
My friend sent me his old EVGA GTX 980 ti video card for the sim computer I've put together because the cheap card I bought just couldn't get the job done. Got that in there and holy cow what a difference! Assetto Corsa runs at 240fps now at full resolution. Awesome! So I've been playing that. Getting pretty familiar with Road Atlanta and VIR. (Those fans on the video card are surprisingly loud!)

I'm ordering parts for the car and shipping them to Texas.

And I'm watching other peoples' videos of the tracks I'm hopefully visiting on the East Coast.......whenever that is.....

And I'm trying to come up with socially distanced-appropriate duties, activities and some kind schedule for my kids who are now home until April 17.......

What size are they? And I do still want a seat but since the advice is seat/cage/harness/hans at the same time, I am just going to run quickfits. Your m2 helped with that decision for sure.

I just bought a front sway bar and got new tires so will be installing the front bar and test-fitting the tires. This tire size (275/40/18 A052) will likely will require raising the ride height and doing another alignment to get them to fit so that's all on my agenda over the next couple of weeks. Anyone else?

A few things for me:
  1. Probably do a Skype call or something similar with Scott to do more in-depth data review and virtual coaching
  2. Review my own data and compare against other similar cars
  3. Catch up on some vehicle maintenance (oil, MTF + diff)
  4. Re-read some books about car setup & performance driving
  5. Re-listen to some favorite Speed Secrets podcast episodes
  6. Watch a few of the all-time best F1 and sports car races
  7. Watch some of the professional iRacing events that are being scheduled

I have 10, 10.5, & 11”. Welcome to come try them whenever you want. How’s the half cage coming along?

You're in San Antonio right? I think I am going to skip the half cage and save for a full cage sometime next year.

I'm going to take the bumpers and some body panels off in search of some more titanium bolts. I know it's stupid, but I like it.

Endurance tire choice in my book still goes to the 615k or RS4 unless you’re trying to set fastest laps. I may scoop another set of A052’s for SCCA Time Trials at some point since it’s 200tw limited, I currently have a dedicated autox set of A052’s only, and just plan to run RS4’s or Scrubs on track for now since it’s more cost-effective. I have access to takeoffs in the RS4 size I need from a local WRL team.
My co-driver and I delaminated my A052’s last weekend actually so we are tire shopping right now. Sadly the new Falken won’t have 285’s in until mid-summer.
RS4 does rock! And somehow they stay solid (wear and temperment). I had a chance to practice on them Friday Feb 14th during an AER event at Road ATL. Scrubs from a previous 9 hour race from last year. Next day during the race we ran a fresh set of RS4. Both days best time in class 4 were 1:42.5 at RA (Scion FRS). A set of RS4 could be predicted to last at least 15-16 hours on the track consistently. Which is nuts

Almost a win with 20 mins and 7 secs behind 1st place and felt the rear end acting weird. Car broke and we had to line from the back of the grid Sunday. BUT we took a chance to throw on the RE71. During the 2 hour stint, came up from 35 or 36th in class to 10th overall and 1st in class. We were a bit worried about being bumped up but then axel broke again.

Bottom line RE71 are 1.3 full second faster than the RS4 at Road ATL and really wakes up the chassis (and the fun factor).

I have run RE71, RR and R7 back to back same day at Summit and found RE71 to be .5 sec quicker than the RR. Hoosier was another full second faster than the RE71. Was able to break the 5 year old E36 M3 NASA TTD record by a full second with a fresh set of R7 (but they start to fall off after 5HC and are crap by 12HC and possibly slower than RR).

It appears that the Yokos are inbetween the RE71 and R7 (even though the delta is quite large time wise)... ordered a set which is waiting at the shop. Will get to it when this hoopla is over.

I'd really like to know more info/feedback (from this group as we have a lot of experienced data driven drivers) on the Yoko. TIA

Lutfy

PS: All times above are from a FRS.

Took off the rear bumper today to get at the crash bar and tow base nuts. I need a deep socket 18 to get the nuts. The tow hooks base bolts are three 13mm and one 17mm. The 17mm big boi just spins and doesn't come loose. I need to take off the crash bar to see what's going on back there. Not sure how soon I can get a deep 18mm with this travel ban going on in California.

I’m doing the same thing but for the 750,000 people. My plan had me finishing work in a week and a half. Someone said it’ll be ready by this Sunday. Good luck with that everyone, my phone and computer are off.

In addition to Hoovie’s channel, I also watch Mischa Charoudin’s videos that aren’t about McDonalds in Croatia. I knew about the Nankang tires from those videos before they were cool.

Anyone on Forza Horizon 4? I’m splitting time between it and “track meets” in Motorsport 7. Horizon is a good time waster. I got a McLaren Speedtail and a Lamborghini Veneto in the same day. Now I just have to stop my son from auctioning them off for 7 credits.

I'll have to go back and watch that one! GT class during the recent Daytona 24hrs was a good fight if you have a lot of time to burn watching while locked down.
