Acs much easier on tires than wsir. Road is smooth. Not many high speed sweepers (minus the roval)
On r888's on my 911 with stiff sidewall I had relatively no wear at ACS. But with my m3 on Re71r tires and softer sidewall I wore out the passenger side outer edge from the long bank Roval. So when I was done with the second session my car was pulling pretty hard to the right. I was subsequently advised to run higher pressure in the passenger side tires at ACS to prevent the dramatic uneven wear due to the long Roval.

What was the psi difference from the left and right side of the car?

I know right? My new RE-71Rs looked like they were done after 1 day at Streets and 1 day at Big Willow. ACS is way gentler, but you're going to see some wear on the right side.

Yeah, did 1:55.88 lap, which was faster than my RE-71R lap. I think some of that is due to being way better than I was then, with DSC off too. Unfortunately, I had the good old check engine light happen here I think - my water coolant temp sensor went bad, so I'm not sure how much power that pulled (if any?).

I think I ran slightly higher pressure on the right side, but I don't think I made a conscious effort to balance them.

Looking forward to:

A) Car with no cooling issues (hopefully). I will have a new radiator, new oil cooler, and new DCT cooler by then
B) Car that actually starts when I want it to (battery cable replace?)
C) Car with working brake lights, power windows, and turn signals (fried FRM replaced)

My rotors are getting pretty worn. This will probably be the last weekend I can run them without replacement - I'm bringing my new set with me in case I have to do an on-track changeout.

Also, these brake pads will probably be done after this weekend too. Crazy how fast these are going now, I only get 5-6 track days out of them before they wear down to 3-4mm or so.

Hang those rotors up in the garage as sacrifices to the gods of speed.

I just told the wife that I need one more safety item for my car -- rear brakes! She balked but didn't say no, that's progress right?!?

Current upgrade plan:
PFC01 front pads
Ti shims (front)
ST-40 rear BBK
Move current PFC08's to rear
back to Castrol SRF

Really hope that does it.

Well, after thinking on this some more, I really think I just boiled my fluid and did not experience pad fade. When I was on the phone with PFC they said it would take something like 1400 degrees or more to fade the pads ... did I really get there, probably not. So maybe Ti shims and better fluid is a good starting point, and I'm getting the PFC01's anyway. Perhaps I should try all of that before adding the rear BBK.

I'm also curious how much the Stoptech Ti piston noses would run, LINK. Probably way more than the shims and certainly more trouble to install.

I started the passenger side about 1-2 psi lower than the driver side. I did this because the right side heats up more from the CCW direction and significant time/speed on the Roval. From what I remember I started the passenger front around 31-32psi and rear a little lower to dial out snap oversteer that I get with the blower. 1-2 more psi on the driver side. The goal was to end the session with all 4 tires in the 38 psi range.

What I learned subsequently is that I should have started the passenger side higher to better protect the tire from rolling and causing wear on the outer edge. Yes the passenger side tires would have ended the session with perhaps over 40 psi and a few psi more than on the driver side, but it would have potentially saved me a lot of unnecessary wear on the outer edge that caused my car to pull very hard right after the day was over.

Shims are pretty cheap and easy, but I do think those are fancy. I like that the shims are floating (versus the piston caps) so you don't always have direct contact between the back of the pad and the piston at all times.

BTW, Mike @ Girodisc confirmed their shims are 1mm thick. Best price I've found for ST-40 sized titanium shims in that thickness, order placed!

If you drive 'flat out', the turn can't be taken any faster.

i have been tempted to "try" and go faster, but i'm bouncing around in there so much at turn 8 (oem zcp suspension) that i'm afraid the car will suddenly just let go and send me spinning into the desert at over 100. i'm full throttle up until a certian point, them i'm probably at about 40% or what i perceive to be maintenance throttle.

Ok, you've just established that you are sane.

The 'cheaters' on their fancy, smancy $5-$6k suspensions should be able to drive flat out (with their cheater tires too!).

Also, don't drive real close to the technical apex of turn 8. It's super bumpy down there. Stay off that apparent apex by a 1/2 - 1 car width and see how it feels.
