I think the neck and intake lid play a big role in sound.

Anywhere u remove thicker plastic for thinner CF will make a difference. I had a Tecnocraft setup which was Kevlar intake tube and airbox lid, but still retaining the stock lower airbox. I recently changed to an Armaspeed intake which is Kevlar tube, lid and lower airbox and it is much louder.

I am on the list for the group buy, but I may end up going with the evolve plenum at the end of the day for the sound. Bummer.
Where's the group buy? Can you send a link thanks

If you look at the Haimus video that explains the design of their plenum, they make a big deal about the structural integrity of it, saying that people were even sitting on the plenum to prove its solidity. That might explain why it doesn't make a big difference in sound. If the top is that stiff, it must be pretty thick and it would not resonate or reverberate in a way that produces more sound. I have a CarboProject export version plenum and I would not be able to sit on it, as I can bend the top with just hand pressure. I'm sure an intake would help with sound though.

The airbox lid and intake elbow also play a role here. It's somewhat apples to oranges when comparing sound to other full kits. Hopefully, they can produce the intake elbow soon, website says fall 2021.

I bought a plenum and will be pairing with the MS intake. All all the intakes Ive heard, I like the MS the most so I think pairing with this plenum should work out great. I really wanted the matte carbon Eventuri but fitment issues and overall price point couldn't be ignored here. I will be catless and already have 2.5 pipe mod exhaust so hopefully I can get some good videos to post here, although I don't have any fancy video equipment.

Im not a huge fan of all the glass carbon under the hood. At first, I was in love until I really got to see one in the flesh and thought it was just too much gloss carbon. I probably wont get an airbox lid for this reason.

I am hopeful this plenum gives me what Im looking for but we shall see. Personally love the sound of the S65 with the MS intake so even if the sound is improved slightly, Ill be happy. I'd have to imagine however, given the sound in Spencers video, the sound will be greatly improved.

True, the airbox lid and intake can make a big difference, which is why I ordered a Dinan intake as well as a CarboProject cf airbox lid to complete the package. Can't wait to hear the results!

If you want it loud and growly, try a full carbon airbox like a GruppeM or Armaspeed. I got the Arma and it is LOUD. Fitment needs some adjustment tho.

Considered Eventuri, but fitment, reliability and price steered me away too. I'm not a big fan of gloss carbon either, hence why I went matte for my CarboProject. Waiting for the matching matte cf airbox lid from Carbo and the Dinan intake. I know the Dinan comes only in gloss, but the elbow isn't very big so I think it will look ok together. Can't wait to see.

The MS intake will make the plenum sing for sure. Spencer did look satisfied with the sound, even with the stock elbow, filter and airbox lid. Hope you will be happy with it.

I'm getting really interested in this HR plenum. I don't personally care about the lack of sound improvement. I'm strictly doing it for the performance gains and looks.

Anyone installed one yet in the E9x M3?

No, nobody has installed one in this thread, the people posting the plenums on their cars are liars and frauds.

You do realize these wont add anything significant for power right? Lol.

No, I didn't know that for sure but was suspicious about Haimus' 14HP gain claim (and 30HP w/mapping update ) and thus my questioning here.

Check this out: Haimus Racing CF Plenum

Now that it has been some years, is there any more info on the remapped gains, especially with finalizing the intake?
