VIN Registry
Hi All,
I have an idea that I believe could greatly benefit the current community and next-generation of owners as well. One of the biggest problems of buying a used car is that when you buy it, you take the word of the most recent seller as to what has been done to it. That is true whether it is a CPO from a BMW dealer or from an auction house. If we started a thread where owners post the last 7 of the VIN of their current car, owners to come will be able to search this forum to find the previous owner and get a true history of the car. One example of this, I am the 3rd owner of my 2011 E90 M3 and I purchased from a dealer. There was a very complete (so I thought) CarFax, but after 6 months of ownership, I know some things were not included. I do not know if RBs have been done, the front bumper has been resprayed, etc. Lets hear everyone's thoughts! I will kick us off: E202746 |

Oh I see what you're saying. Yeah this could give people some transparency. I would hope people would just be transparent with buyers and tell them their username.
http://www.bmwmregistry.com/ is a thing already but that's not really the whole story on a given car

Yes, like the bmw official registry, but hopefully more populated and captures each individual owner. Last edited by Ngilbe36; 07-17-2017 at 10:31 AM.. |
