I think most of the track holdouts are starting to face reality. NASA TX just canceled their April event. COTA is canceling everything now through May 31 - private rentals like HPDE were still on but that is all done now. That means the Rolling Stones concert there at the end of May too - the freaking Stones man, ugh!

WRL still thinks they are going to race at Mid-Ohio the first weekend in April... good luck with that.

The highlight of my track year was going to be racing in the TCR 500 at Spa Francorchamps in May. They have said nothing about the status of the race yet but do not see that one happening either. Was going to be epic

We ran the M3 yesterday at our local track. Decided we are just going to shut it down now until the BMW CCA race at COTA in June. Use this time to tie up all the loose ends with the car. Our local track (Harris Hill) is shutting down starting next week anyways for a scheduled repave so any track time now is going to require a bit of travel. Just going to spend this time now on the car & when everything starts to normalize out (hopefully soon) be ready to hit it hard.

Some people are hoarding toilet paper, I've just placed a huge order of brake rotors and pads!

I imagine H1/S1 track days will all be cancelled just H2/S2 hopefully will work out

I'm thinking like you... Just got in some tires and have some other odds and ends to do to the car so I guess the next couple of weekends will be spent working on the car and hoping for more track time soon.

I’m hearing COTA is in the ditch financially. This won’t help it.

That is the big rumor but who really knows. I don’t think it’s a big secret that it wasn’t in the best place financially before this happened - but hopefully it’s not as bad as it sounds. The gossip in the business world in this area is ridiculous- it’s like there is a game to see who can make up the dumbest crap and get people to spread it around here. Hopefully it’s being exaggerated in gossip right now, hopefully...

That being said I can pretty much guarantee that are not many high overhead business owners who aren’t completely puckered up right now.

They screwed up some tax payment two years ago because the files some paperwork late...or something like that.

They lost millions.

To me...that smacks of incompetence. I could be wrong tho.

There have been cancellations but TX tracks are still open.

If you do go to the track bring extra socks...just in case they run out of toilet paper. Just a sample of my army training.

They lost out on a $25M credit for the USGP by not filing paperwork on time for their anti-human trafficking plan. Really stupid mistake.

If $25 million hangs in the balance...I'd make sure it gets done. I think it says something about the organization.

I don't see an organized track day happening for a couple of weeks. I think the economy is going to take a big hit for awhile.

Personally, I can't justify going to the track in this environment.

Was gonna go to MSRH this Sunday with several people (member day), but as a group we decided to cancel it. I fully support our host’s decision..no need to put ourselves at risk and potentially waste medical resources. I bought a GoPro for the occasion since I left mine in Austin, and I can’t return it lol.

Maybe we can do sim racing together?

you bring up another valid point. The economy is going to tank big time, many businesses will close and many people will lose their jobs. Not the best time to blow tons of money on the track

SCCA as of yesterday has cancelled all events through April.
My friend's hpde group was planning to run on the 11th, but MSR Cresson told them they will not be able to, I hear however that some members out there are still driving.

I've resolved myself to just getting the car buttoned up until this all passes. My maintenance to-do list seems to have grown again...

Is there some site to see events at COTA?
The BMWCCA used to run there, but haven't seen anything lately.
Bucket list track I'd like to go to in case things go bad there.
Thanks!

Not really, a lot of the TX groups don't use MotorsportReg or ClubRegistration. We have a big Facebook group for HPDE/TT/autocross.
