Ordered 12/31 but will miss the holiday incentives!
I ordered 12/31 intending to take advantage of the 0.9% and $1500. My dealer left out the details about the 60 day lock and the holiday shutdown. Now I'm sitting on a week 7 build and a car that's 3 grand more than I agreed to pay, barring them airlifting it over here or really good March incentives. $3k is not a terrible amount of money piled on top of an M, but it's about as close to a bait-and-switch as I've seen and I won't do it on principle.
If I were a car company that had shed a quarter of its sales since 2006, I probably wouldn't be walking away from customers (and BMWCCA members at that), but then, I'm not a car company. Any advice? Called BMW NA but they were as unhelpful as I expected them to be. -db |

I'm in the same exact boat. Week 7, $500 price lock, $1,500 holiday credit and 0.9%/36 mo finance. My CA is David at Eurocarsonline. Per David, as long as I sign the financing docs by 3/3/2011 I get all the above. The car should be on the water at that time frame.
My understanding is week 7 is the week of 2/7. The build should be completed by mid week 2/14.

But it does not make up for the Holiday cash and price increase when combined with the also low December lease rates.

Same thing happened to me. It sucks but had I really understood the rules I wouldn't have been surprised. I blame myself for not doing more research rather than blame my CA for not mentioning an extremely likely scenario.

joelk, What makes you think you will not be able to sign by March 3 to keep the incentives? What build week are you?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "sign." I would guess you mean sign the loan agreement? It seems to me it wouldn't be a good idea to sign anything until you can inspect the vehicle upon delivery. Do you disagree? thnx. *assumes I don't add 6nr

I don't see why a Week 7 car could not make it to the east coast, especially with the holidays behind us.
I also have heard that some Dynamic Damper Control parts availability issues may have slowed down production, which could maybe give cause for allowing these cars a few days on the lock if they com in just under the wire.

thanks for the reply. what's the recourse should the car arrive w/o a critical option (e.g. DCT v. 6MT, DDC, etc)? Rely on the goodwill of the dealer to make it right?

I assume so, and in general BMW USA would also help out. Again that I trust them to do the right thing.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=423577 The last production week of the 2010 calendar was the week starting Dec 25th, 2010. I would infer from this that the following week, the week of Jan 2nd, 2011 would be the first production week of 2011. Therefore: Prod. Week #1: begins Sunday Jan 2nd Prod. Week #2: begins Sunday Jan 9th Prod. Week #3: begins Sunday Jan 16th Prod. Week #4: begins Sunday Jan 23rd Prod. Week #5: begins Sunday Jan 30th Prod. Week #6: begins Sunday Feb 6th Prod. Week #7: begins Sunday Feb 13th

When did the 800# or website show you were scheduled for production and not at the "...no confirmed production date yet" message?
