Any word on those "alignment shims" that Tom mentioned a while back? Also, how do those shims work? Curious if they work on hardware/etc that we already have, or if it's only compatible with Macht Schnell equipment.

The alignment shim will allow one to fine-tune the seating position to best align you with the steering wheel.

Alignment shim kits are compatible with all Race shells, whether it is mounted with Recaro or MS hardware.

Thanks for the reply Tom. Is there a link that might show what these alignment shims look like/function? I'm pretty interested in picking up a few when I have time.

Correct - it's a huge amount of weight reduction.

Did the install last weekend.
But to be honest. I'm not very very happy with the solution.
Many many parts which have to be aligned to get all bold through.
Why couldn't Macht Schnell not make a direct e92 set which doesn't require to add that many different parts to it.

With the old Macht Schnell floor mounts the harness receptacles could be connected directly to the side of the floor mounts.
With the new ones the harness receptacles add a lot of weight and high to the complete setup as they mount on top of the slider.
Don't really understand why both parts of the harness receptacles had to be made out of heavy steel. One side - for sure - it's the one which holds the harness. But the other one is just a spacer. This could be made out of alloy and would save 2-3 lbs per side.

At the moment I'm in contact with BMW here in Munich looking for a way if all missing airbags can be coded out as the Macht Schnell module is really not what I'm looking for as it completely disables the passenger airbag...?!
