Torque spec of under valve cover oil baffle?

Does anyone know the torque spec for the oil baffles under the valve cover? Just got my valve covers stripped and recoated and need to re install. Torque spec I feel is important for these to avoid getting a bolt lost in the engine after so many miles if put on under torqued.

I want to say yes but I thought they were machined screws and that list say they are self tapping. I will go pull one and check

The screw has a very light taper towards the end but I don't believe that it is self tapping. So I am not sure that that is what the chart was referring to.

I doubt you'll find that information and it's not really needed. Use some loctite 243 and snook them up.

I know it would be hard to find info but if it's out there it would be nice to know. Loctite is going to be used if I don't get an answer

I'd use it regardless. I don't believe they were ever intended to be serviced, your threading steel screws into magnesium alloy for the second time. Last thing you want it is a screw coming loose and dropping out

To anyone doing this in the future be very careful. While the original spec may be 6 or 7 NM that is way to much for the covers the second time around. They will strip at this torque, I had one go and most of the other I could feel starting to yield at a torque likely around 3 or 4 NM. I recommend using loctite, torque till snug and go a little more. If you are extra paranoid like me after they are installed clean up a portion of the screw and the baffle with wire brush, sandpaper, brake clean, and put a small dab of epoxy (one not affected by oil) there to prevent backing out. I am unsure of exactly how hot the covers get but I would guess they could get around 300f on a hot day + hard driving which is near the limit of the thread locker so I used an epoxy that will take 500f + on the bolt head. I also used a small amount that could be abraded down if I would need to remove them again.
