Roastbeef sensei

Well, I thought I lightened her up a bit, but just got corner balanced... She's 3,608 lbs wet

Primary weight reduction efforts:
Titan 18" 9.5/10.5
ST 60/40 BBK
MFactory carbon drive shaft
Sparco seats, BK mounts
Removed rear seats top/buttons
JRZ Coilovers
Titanium xpipe

Weight gain culprits:
Harrop SC
275/305 NT01
BK harness bar
Sunroof (going to swap with carbon)
Do99 oil cooler (increased capacity to 10 liters)
Full tank of gas

Roast B, are you accepting any new applicants into your weight watchers program? I'd like to drop ~ 150-200lbs. While I could drop the SC, that's no fun as I'm not building for a race class. But I would like to compete in TT and time attack events as I continue to progress.

Winter Plans:
- Strip interior from seats back
- remove sunroof glass and mechanism (BW carbon replacement)
- lighter battery
- radio /speaker delete
- remove doorcards, replace hard sport ltw cards
- wiper fluid delete
- 50/50 on AC delete and in conjunction go with electric steering pump (delete intercooler, reservoir). This might be extreme for a dual duty car although I don't need to drive it around town. Just choose to in the summers and love to sweat with windows down.
+ jp Marketing half cage
+ 65-68" wing, 12" risers, lip
+ brake ducting

Yeah, I'll be doing that program as well.

I have a DCT/Sunroof car and was trying to figure out how you are 50lbs heavier than me and its definitely that S/C.
Drop your battery to an antigravity. It's pricey but you'll save 30lbs easily there. Carbon roof replacement would also be awesome.
I would think with your list there you might be able to get down another 150 like your goal.
Also, maybe consider pulling your dash and swapping to a single hump dash and removing all the nav stuff? Unless your car was optioned already without one

Thanks - Yeah the SC is hefty but adds a lot!!

I would probably leave the dash piece, maybe fill the hole with gauges or something. But I would absolutely strip out the nav screen etc. Its 2008 tech and its garbage. Don't care about MDM, as the only setting I use is DCS off.

As a peer yes, but I'm intending to be respectful of our weight reduction teacher... 😬

I'd like to report shots fired

Stock seats too I believe.

I'd truly love to see what my own car weighs as it's my ultimate goal to get near 200lbs out of the car. I know I'm down at least 100lbs right now but I don't have a baseline.

DRLane i'll share a few ideas beyond the basics you already mentioned.

since you'll be using a 1/2 cage, i presume carbon doors are off the table. you can still take 3lbs out of the doors without reducing safety by losing the insulation and trimming some excess metal. another silly thing i've fantasized about is moving the driver's side door controller to the center console. this moves weight more inboard, potentially allows for less wires, and you get to ditch the passenger side window controller completely.

replace the rear window and rear quarters with lexan. i wouldn't touch the front windscreen for safety, and leave the sides alone, because they would have to be fixed.
https://www.plastics4performance.com...=126&model=191

move the lightweight battery to behind the passenger seat on the floor, and shorten the battery cable.

titanium nuts and bolts where applicable (its not cost effective, but none of this is).

scrape off all the adhesive sound deadening bonded to the body.

trim all interior tabs that are no longer used.

get rid of your hood and trunk hinges and the struts associated with them. use aerocatch latches instead. a pair of trunk struts weigh about a pound. the hinges weigh about 1.5 pounds each!

drill out the front radiator support. it looks like its plastic, but it has a metal core.

get rid of the windshield washer assembly, or run one wiper. (i'm currently working on lightening mine, its a long term project).

thin out the wiring harnesses to only keep what is necessary.

if you have a really lightweight exhaust, you don't need the side rear exhaust mounts. they weigh about 2.4 lbs.

burger tuning cowl filters.

what did i miss?

Short of just removing parts, the battery is order of magnitude better bang for buck lightweighting than just about anything else. I, personally, wouldn't go to the trouble of moving it behind the back seat, but I bet there's a couple lb in the wiring there too. But 8lb of lifepo, and a few morelb of wire, low to the ground over the right rear isn't a terrible place for weight.

Don't delete the AC, driver comfort is a performance issue, if you're sweating in grid for 10 minutes ebfoer you go out you're not going to be as sharp. Delete it when it breaks, and install a cool shirt system. Also swass sucks.

Second the burger tuning filters. HAve had them on my almost all-street car for a couple years now and no adverse effects.

Center console - you can lightweight this with the sunglass tray instead of the ashtray, saves 97 grams!

There is a nice Android-based thing that can use the stock dash hump screen for lots of cool programs including Torque and the like. Might want to look into those before you bin it.

But don't listen to me my E90M is 3480 with a full tank and full stock interior still, bleh, pig, lol

Also, what's a Do99 oil cooler, is that like turning your oil cooler up by 11?

A few more easy targets....

Between the body and trunk lining there is more sound deadening.
Rear seat head rests
Rear floor mats (or all if you're really hardcore)
