Price Check - 2012 E92 ZCP w/ salvage title
2012 e92 ZCP Car, heavily optioned - current sits at 60k miles.
2 accidents with the second accident totaling the car. Any help/ feedback is appreciated. asking 23,900 - which seems rather aggressive. I have not seen the car in person yet but from the pictures it looks decent considering the history |

Post the photos and I'll be able to tell you what the deal is.
These cars are usually written off with zero frame damage. If the rad support gets touched, they're written off. This might be your ticket to a minty M3 for far less. In most cases, these cars are no different than a clean title car that's had its bumper and hood removed and reinstalled. But I'd have to see the accident photos. I also don't think people realize how difficult it is to get these cars back on the road. They undergo serious inspections, everything is measured and has to be factory spec.

Why would anyone say stay away from it without ANY information regarding its accident?!? My lord the ignorance is strong here...
OP, if you're serious about it and don't mind the blemished title, get a ppi and send pictures to the shop of the accident. Any reputable Indy shop will know what to look for and it wouldn't take a lot to measure suspension points and frame ends to make sure everything is square. Being there's really no body damage to this besides the rear quarter, I'd have to GUESS maybe the subframes were tweaked. Again, if you don't mind the blemished title, get a PPI and go from there. I have zero issues with branded titles if everything checks out

Thanks guys
I did call my local shop about the car and he is excited to check it out. They are the premier shop here in St. Louis. His price seems crazy high. But this sure would be a fun dedicated track car if the price is right.. Thanks again! I will keep this updated. Cheers gents |

Looks like a good buy to me.
Needs a quarter panel and a few suspension components. Very unlikely this would have any "frame damage".

What's the plan for he car? Is it a DD, if it goes down for a bit it keeps you from work? Is it just a fun weekend auto-x/track car you're going to have fun with and upgrade?
It's your comfort zone as to how pissed off you'll be if it leaves you stranded once or twice. You know what you're buying, a totaled-out car no matter what brand it is. If it's just for fun and dirt cheap, rock it like you stole it!

Thanks for all the replies.
Plan is to speak with the owner this weekend and see if he is willing to be more realistic with the price. Plans for the car - just a toy with occasional track/ autocross I do not want to insult or angry the owner, but what would be a fair price for myself and the buyer? ( if everything checks out ) |

That's up to you, your budget, and your needs for the car. I wouldn't pay more than $12k for this car while someone else might pay $20k. If you don't mind the significant baggage this car carries then maybe it's worth more to you. Not many (any?) M3s with less than 100k miles for $20k.

I don't think anything is wrong with it for a track car. Even a DD as long as you don't want to sell it. To much baggage, try to get it for a somewhat better price.

Let me clarify something, the car is fixed correct? If it is I don't feel this price point is to far off. A 2012 E92 Competition Package with 22k Miles is close to a 40k car. This is almost half the price. If it clears a PPI why does everyone think this car will leave him stranded or fall apart? Op, get a PPI before trying to bargain. Find out what the car needs, how well it was fixed, what was fixed, if everything is square etc and take your discussion from there. If it was a shoddy repair there isn't any price you can put on it. If it needs nothing, $20k is a steal.

This car is like a really hot girl who got a meth habit, lost half her teeth and got HIV then got into rehab and miraculously cleaned herself up. Now she has the HIV under control, new good looking fake teeth, and is at least functional and hot again.
Would I date or marry that? Hell no. Might be good for a free weekend driver though if you're desperate. |

The car is fixed, yes. The top photo is the main ad photo.
The guy sounds like he flips cars on the side. He has rebuilt / sold several others it appears. He did the suspension repairs at his garage. Another " buddy " checked the frame and said it was " good " . The paint work was done by another party. So, yea quite the story on this one. |

You'd have to look at the title and see if its still Salvage or if it's Rebuilt. These cars should have to pass a rather strict government inspection to get the rebuilt title.
