Really what I'd like to know, is it unsafe to have the sub strap bar in line or forward with the seat hole. Obviously, the instructions say that it should be behind the seat hole. But, if that's not feasible due to driver height, are you compromising your safety by having it mounted as shown in the picture.

Will definitely be interesting to hear BK's thoughts on this, because I spoke with Ian and he said that method is acceptable. I wonder what Schroth or any other harness manufacturer would have to say.

Per Schroth, who IMO has done more testing on this than anyone else out there, acceptable range of belt angles for a 6 point:

(the downward facing shoulder straps not being acceptable because they plan load on the seat that the seat wasn't designed for. As a result, for every single car/seat they sell the quick fit for, they test the factory seat to make sure it can take the downward load applied by the belts... and they also worked with Cobra/tested the Nogaro to make sure it could take that load)

Good info. I think our question is more about the sub strap specifically. Is there a safety issue with having the sub strap bar NOT mounted in a location that would allow a 20* rearward angle from the sub strap hole in the seat?

The acceptable range for the sub strap, as pictured above, is straight down (0°) to 20° backwards-- not bang on 20°!

Understood. While I have you here, is the small bar that is welded to the sub strap bar used to route the straps over, or are the straps supposed to go around the outside of that small bar?

The small bar is just a guide for the sub strap. Definitely supposed to be routed around the big bar.

I guess this all depends on the seat in use huh, since every sub hole maybe slightly different.

Yeah no question about the wrap going around the big bar haha, thanks for the response. I assumed it served as some sort of guide

BK never called me back yesterday, so that's neat.

I'll call again today.

Yea he gave me faster and more e-mail responses than anyone I've e-mailed about car parts, and saved me from ordering the wrong parts multiple times. Thanks Obioban! Hope your next path is great.

eBay, folks are repurposing the i3 rails because the 3x series are impossible to find.

I'd just use the power sliders from your existing seats. They're awesome for micro adjustments while in a harness.

Seconding the power sliders! Loving them. It's really not a difficult DIY

All holes are through BK mounts only, the OE rails are untouched.

Pic also shows the PnP wiring harness that I made up.
OE seats and wiring are 100% untouched.

I’m getting ready to install my BK mounts any chance you could provide me with your wiring harness details? Looks great!!!

It takes a bit of reading but everything is posted in this thread.
The connection info is in this post.
If you take the yellow connector apart, there is no wire cutting required.

The switch circuit is just a simple on/off.

I'm kinda stuck with electric sliders.
I'm using OE white and black motor plugs so I have a purple a blue and a yellow wire connected to the motor.
On the yellow box case I have one red replacing the original red and one yellow replacing the originally brown (8). There was another brown wire (13) but I don't know what to do with it.
Now I have no idea how to connect these to the window switch. Obviously red is going to pin 5 and I think purple goes to pin 1 and blue goes to pin 4 but I don't know what pin 2 and 3 are for. Instruction says ground from the yellow case goes to both 2 and 3 but how? Am I supposed to use both brown slots? Wouldn't that be using 3 spade connectors though? Also what to do with the yellow wire from the motor? Man I feel so dumb

I may still have some images saved on my phone from doing this project. Let me see if I can find them

EDIT: Ok here we go, maybe these can help see the harness we created and the wiring we used. I tried when splicing the new stuff in the use wires that matched in color. Sorry they are sideways.
