Thoughts on a 2011 e92 M3?

I found a very clean, mint condition 2011 e92 M3 (manual) with the competition package and red interior (not extended). The car only has 6,000 miles. This is pretty much the exact combination I'm looking for, but I was hoping to spend between 44-47k.

He's pretty firm on $49,900, which I know is reasonable, but does this seems like a pretty decent deal? I'm considering matching his price due to the mileage, but am having second thoughts because it's a bit more than I was hoping to spend.

Thanks!

I'd say that's a good deal considering the mileage. I would definitely get a PPI done and make sure he still had the proper maintenance done on the car.

Cool, that's a great idea. I'll probably go through with the PPI just to be safe.

It's hard to find pretty much the exact specs you want. So if you found one in mint condition and the price is reasonable, just do it.

Patience. You can get it for that, once the F80 M4's start rolling out.

I think with some patience you could find one in your price range, with "average mileage." That said, if this is exactly what you want and the PPI comes back clean then it is prob worth it to spend the extra money to buy, if you can afford it.

low miles or not, its still going to run out of warranty soon, so its overpriced absent a CPO or extended warranty

Agree with the pricing being a little high with non CPO. Paid $50K for my loaded '11 ZCP in Jan. I'd peg that closer to $46-47 without CPO.

I ended up taking the leap and picking it up for $49,500. It's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for inside and out so I was ready to stop hunting and make a decision. A few things I didn't note in my original post was that in addition to the Competition package, it also has the Tech package, carbon leather interior trim, red novillo leather, heated seats, ipod/usb adapter, bluetooth, satellite radio and premium sound.

I've always purchased my vehicles privately, and have never purchased one as CPO in the past, so this isn't very important to me. As for the warranty expiring in the near future, I'm not very concerned due to the mileage. I'm feeling good about this one. Thanks for all the replies!

I was just going to say that you should buy it. If it is exactly or nearly exactly what you are looking for, then it is worth the extra few $$$$. Cars like this are basically an emotional purchase to begin with, so if you compromise too much, you just won't feel as good.

You did the right thing. I had the exact situation (found exactly what I wanted and ended up paying a bit more than I would've liked) and couldn't be happier. Carpe diem!
