My M3 has different mpg reading

It used to be exactly the same but the past couple of weeks I noticed that the mpg on the cluster display calculates differently from the mpg displayed on the nav. screen. Any idea what's going on? I took a pic of the cluster showing 17.8mpg and the display on the nav showed 18.5mpg.

I asked the exact same question on this board about 5 or 6 months ago and got no reply. I have no idea.

You can reset them, but they start to drift from each other at some point.

Just hold down the button on the stalk when your fuel mileage is being displayed.

There are two readings that you can alter. One for trip A to B (or whenever you reset your readings) and the other is overall MPG (which you can also reset to match your first reading if you reset them at the same time).

Even if it is, it doesn't matter--the point is that they drift. They have to be calculated at different places on the car, only thing I can think of.
