What to do about OSS Design Angel Eyes?
I don't have my car yet, so I'm in no rush to make a decision. I paid for a set of Lux H8 Angel Eyes for when they come in stock in late April. I've searching around for information on OSS Design LED replacement Angel Eyes. It appeared that the guys doing to installations had gone dark. I couldn't find any info. until yesterday.
http://f1autohaus.myshopify.com/products/ossdesigns I shot them an email and Luis responded. They are indeed still around in Miami. I've seen that these guys do fantastic work, but I am naturally a little concerned tearing the headlights out of my brand new $60,000+ car. I hope he doesn't mind me posting his response. This would have helped me prior to ordering Lux H8s: "Hello Yes sir I'm in Miami. Price for angels and headlight labor is $529.00. If you bring the car there's a 2hr charge of $100 for dissasembly, headlight removal and reassembly for the shop. You may bring the headlights or ship them to avoid the shop charge. Current available options: Blackout $120 LED turnsignal $100 Corner Delete $75 We do offer discounts for "the works" upon request. Best Luis Duran" I'm leaning toward getting the Lux H8s, trying them out, and then selling them if I don't like them. The OSS headlights are going to cost more than twice as much. That's assuming you don't do all of the options. Any thoughts? |

LUX or OSS? Apples and oranges. Or maybe red apples green apples. Hm.
LUX is priced extremely well for what they do, great light output and built to a high standard. OSS is again priced extremely well for what they do, much higher and clearer light output but obviously you would expect this considering the higher price. Uses the same LED technology but more 'advanced' in the sense a lot more time is put into the making of them. Search through the forums and I'm 99.9% sure you will not find a bad review about either of them. I have LUX myself but considering you just spent $60,000+ on a new car I think you should go with the OSS option, you won't be disappointed, don't worry about them opening the headlight they know what they're doing. |

The only downside to OSS is that your car is basically out of commision for a week (maybe more depending on shipping times) while the headlights are being retrofitted in Miami. I had a shop here remove my bumper and headlights. Do you have another car to fall back on for a bit?
Luis provided great communication and customer service. You'll get all your questions answered. The product you get back is nothing short of amazing. Like the second post said, you won't find many complaints about either. I only got the turn-light option and I'm completely satisfied with these angel eyes, they turn heads for sure.

My car is "out of commission" all this week waiting for my OSS lights. I cannot wait! I removed the bumper and lights myself (a major PITA), and shipped the lights. Be prepared to pay a lot for shipping. Unless you live close, the shop fee is probably cheaper. Proper packaging and insurance ($2200 worth) ran me over $120. Just FYI...

get the OSS. I wish I had done that the first time, but it's not worth upgrading from the AiB's at this point for me.
I wouldn't worry about them opening up the headlights - they've done more than enough installs to know what they're doing. |

I had mine done last year, shouldn't take more than a day. Probably 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. (depending on options) I went full blackout etc. Here are a couple quick pictures I have of mine in daytime. |

I still haven't heard back from Luis. Does anyone have a phone number or a different email besides the sales@f1autohaus.com address? Is he or someone from the shop a member on this forum that I can PM?

I get the sense that lighting is just a side thing they do. I emailed him at that address on a Saturday, and he responded Sunday morning.

I know OSS uses similar (if not the same) LS3 rings, but does anyone know how or what DIY kit we can use for the led turn signal?

OSS FTW. You have to see these in person. I guarantee you will be sold! I actually DIY on mines. It's not difficult but takes a lot of patience. I had to order another headlight because I accidentally messed up the chrome.

He's been pretty slammed this week with a move. I'm sure he'll get back to you soon.

Basically gets rid of the egg yolk yellow look of the turn signal in the headlamp housing. The LED they put in will flash yellow, but when it's not flashing it'll look clear like the rest of the headlamp.
OP, if you have the money go with OSS. They obviously do awesome work, it's just a bit pricey and some people can't have their cars down for a week or more with shipping. I'd do it if I could afford it now, and if I could have the car down for a week. I'd have to ship. But I got LUX to cover me and have no complaints.
