Hunt Valley Cruise, then Cars & Coffee

...this Saturday June 30th. We will meet at 715am at the Hunt Valley Cars and Coffee near Marshalls at the top of the parking lot, and roll out about 745am, minimizing some of the Saturday morning traffic, and avoiding some of the midday summer heat. The plan is to end at Hunt Valley Cars & Coffee, about 10am or so.

Here are the planned legs of the trip, which I am not completely familiar with...so if anyone knows these roads we plan to take, and knows that they are either really crappy or maybe even dirt roads, please let me know, so I can adjust the route beforehand.

Route in Mapquest (yes, Mapquest, it actually works): http://mapq.st/2IELSX9

Leg 1: https://goo.gl/maps/cmhL9A3SFDG2 Stopping at the Park Inn. ...this should be back roads off of Falls Rd, heading North

Leg 2: https://goo.gl/maps/NE52y3NS8cu Stopping at the Pretty Boy Dam ...this should be back roads around the Dam

Leg 3: https://goo.gl/maps/qUoQzgbukJ42 Back to Hunt Valley down I83 .....directly down to Hunt Valley Town Center, down I83 South

It's going to be hot as hell Saturday, even in the morning, so I don't know how much stamina I'll have to stand around at Hunt Valley afterwards for the C&C, so expect some of us to move inside for breakfast at the Iron Rooster or Panera.

The Zello walkie talkie app will be the communication of choice, so download the app.

...and FYI, we're joining a day long cruise with the Virginia M crew through the mountains of Central Virginia on July 22nd, for all of you who really like to drive. Stay tuned for more details on that one. And we'll have another short cruise before then, likely on a Sunday out of Annapolis before or after the Annapolis C&C.

Added it. At Hunt Valley Cars and Coffee parking lot, basically in front of Marshalls there.

Nice, but why did you set the time to meet and leave before the Cars & Coffee and come back to the cars & coffee when it is basically over?

I have seen cars meet up there right after at 10am before like the Porsche or Corvette club.

We COULD leave a little later, around 9am, to catch some of the C&C, but I don't want to leave that late, and then drive until 11am when it will be getting pretty hot. Not on this particular Saturday.

So, yes, M cruisers will be missing the heart of the C&C this Saturday.

We'll be doing similar drives about once a month, through until about October...so if you don't make this one, there will be more. Each time we do one, the cruise hours will shift depending on the weather and a few other factors (like how early I can rise on a particular Saturday or Sunday ).

So, this Saturday, the cruise will be from about 730am until about 10am.

And I just posted the planned route.

The first leg is just directly up 83? Why wouldn’t we take falls rd instead? It’s a much better road

Oh snap, that means it didn't save my re-route. I have us routed all through back roads to get to the Park Inn, even more rural than Falls Road.

What are you showing for Leg 2? Hopefully, it's a route around the Dam, on back roads. Some of the back roads maybe sketchy, so we'll be in investigation mode.

When I click on the Leg 1 link, it shows the following directions below:

Hunt Valley Towne Centre
118 Shawan Rd, Cockeysville, MD 21030

Take McCormick Rd to MD-45 N/York Rd W
40 s (0.2 mi)

Turn left onto MD-45 N/York Rd W
2 min (1.0 mi)

Take Carroll Rd to Monkton Rd in 10
10 min (5.1 mi)

Continue on Monkton Rd to Wesley Chapel Rd
3 min (1.6 mi)

Take Blue Mt Rd to MD-138 W in 7
12 min (5.4 mi)

Turn right onto MD-138 W
10 s (492 ft)

Continue on Big Falls Rd. Take Graystone Rd and Stablers Church Rd to MD-45 S
14 min (6.9 mi)

Turn left onto MD-45 S
Destination will be on the right
10 s (240 ft)
Park Inn
19308 York Rd, Parkton, MD 21120

3, and that's a good thing, because the route was a little treacherous. Now that I've actually driven it, I will make adjustments...and will be ready for the next one, which will likely be Saturday July 15th. Overall, it's a nice route, with lots of subtle twists and turns, and a few spots for pictures. And it's less than 60 miles, and only takes about 2 hours round trip back to Hunt Valley (without stops).

July 22nd is the date for the day-long cruise from Southern VA through the VA mountains with VA M's.

And later in August, we'll be back with the Annapolis Cars & Coffee and Cruise.

And September/October, we'll be cruising to Western MD through the mountains for a day-long cruise with MD/VA M's.

In November before Thanksgiving, caravanning to the Tail in Tennessee, to meet up with the Southeast M's for the weekend.

So, stay tuned, there will be plenty of opportunities in our area to cruise with fellow BMW enthusiasts.
