yes, that is the name of it. thank you sir! My previous Indy never told me I was missing it.. But now I know with the new shop. They said it was ok to drive until this week, you think that's the case? what's the impact?
That's a good question just looking at mine that currently has the plenum off and it looks like it joins the rest of the vacuum system at the back of the engine, it's a plenum off replacement. The valve releases excess pressure Built up in the plenum, looks like yours is venting to atmosphere if it ever opens I don't think it does. It's a safety valve so your plenum doesn't blow off if your intake valves don't open for whatever reason.
Thank you! I hope mine can wait until Friday without blowing!
The more I think about it, it's more likely to only open if you suck something up through the intake. I could be wrong though, I'm no professional. Question is if it does connect to the vacuum why has someone removed it and capped it, maybe your car used to be supercharged?
Is it definitely capped? I was told it was just missing... maybe I'm missing seeing a cap on it though.
The vacuum line "if" it connects to the vacuum system would have to be capped so where ever the missing hose connects to I would imagine it's capped there, to avoid a vacuum leak. The valve just blows to atmosphere if it opens

yeah I believe I do have a vacuum leak, I think, from what I was told... but the Indy told me they would fix that along with my leaking oil filter gasket this week. But maybe I misheard and this isn't possible. I hope it wasn't previously supercharged and nothing besides this to suggest it, but it's certainly possible I guess.

Well I feel for you deacon, sounds like you've had to have a lot of service on your car in your short ownership. I hope it gets sorted out right and now it has the right owner gives you many years of reliable service. Most of my shenanigans and wrenching on my car is self inflicted in the name of modding, I feel like you've had more than your fair share. I'm no pro but have had some wrench time on the car and will always offer advice if I can. Feel free to drop a pm if you need it. Cheers.

Got the seats in...but, I need to get the car out of the garage for better pictures.

Also, if anyone needs a set of extremely well taken care of black novillo seats (about 20k on them), let me know! I'll be making a post soon.

After reading old threads I am in with the out crowd. After all I just bought a 9+ year old car 9 months ago. Spacers are so 2009.

Cleaned up some rotor rust and used some anti-seize. First attempt I got SWS at 75MPH plus. Removed the wheels again and torqued everything down with each wheel slightly touching the ground after a very progressive star pattern wheel bolt tightening sequence using speeds 1-2 on the cordless impact with the wheels in the air. The factory BBS wheels have cut outs & holes visible from the front between the bolt holes so you know where to center the wheel on the Turner spacers which also have cut outs. This made things easy to line up. SWS 100% gone up to 100MPH.

Spacers are a different color because of the deal I got. This set of brake pads and rotors will be the last on this car.

What does that mean? You'll sell it before it needs them again or the car won't last long enough?

Lol this bish might be sold or Brembo 380s may go on. The existing brakes are worn. Rotors almost too thin and pads are right behind the rotors.

picked up coding thingy from Alex/Alpine Tuning
will attempt tonight

edit - very easy to install the engine tune following the directions

updated engine software
optimized for 91 octane
I can definitely feel better power delivery starting down low
because i drove around a bit and then drove the same road right after the tune

Shredded it from a stop sign. Actually didn't fully intend it but went with it once the tires started slipping on the cold asphalt. Got a thumbs up and a grin from my stop sign colleague at the next stop. Everyone's looking forward to the spring in my neighborhood.

Nice! I can't wait to get mine finished and installed. Currently working on integrating the OEM heated seat controls with aftermarket elements.

At 95k mi finally did rod bearings at MRF (thanks to Malek). Also installed KW Clubsports (loving the ride and stance), new motor mounts and MRF solid aluminum subframe mounts. Like a new (improved) car!

I was going to do the heated option for the Recaros (should be easy, since my car didn't have heated seats), but honestly, I only drive the car in warm weather and Alcantara doesn't get freezing cold.

My biggest issue now is matching up the rest of the interior and doing a rear seat delete.

Rear seat delete isn't too hard to build yourself. This is what I built when I caged my car. I finished off the center console with a modified sedan ac vent.

Awaiting the completion of the replacement of my diff under my extended warranty. Tech originally thought the rear end noise might be the axle shafts or wheel bearings, but apparently the diff needs replacing. 61K miles on the clock. After this, this car will be like new, LOL.
