Couple of days away from making an order for an '11. Wondering how hard the JB is to maintain. Never had a black car. Looking at JB, IB or boring white.

I think gray is probably the easiest car to keep looking clean just because dirt tends to be gray anyway.

Of the dark colors, I think JZB car might show dirt the easiest. My friend has a JB Z and that's similar, but I think the metallic highlights in JZB might just make it the bigger challenge.

Dark colors also show swirls much easier. JZB, LMB, IB all can look like someone tool steel wool to them if anything but the utmost polishing care has been done.

My first BMW was alpine white. I loved it! However, AW shows dirt very easily, too -- perhaps more than any other color. Even just a basic rainy day can leave it appearing quite filthy whereas another color, even JZB, might not look anywhere near so dirty.

All that's to say: Get the color you love!

Actually JZB is easier to maintain than Jet Black. The metallic paint helps to mask some of the dirt. There have been other threads on it from what I remember.

Either way its a black car and as soon as you wash it.. it's dirty again

I have to wash mine every weekend.. almost 3 hours if I'm doing it really fast.

my previous E93 was jet black and I think JzB is harder to maintain but IMO when clean it certainly looks way better! I don't mind washing it every weekend

Where's the E90 love in this thread? What's the point of excluding 1 varient of the M3?

how is the road noise with the ADV08 tires?
I have the Toyo R888 and they make quite a bit of road noise
