You are affected by this as this is a federal law.

I wonder how many high-end manufacturers will not bother importing certain models to Canada as they couldnt be bothered to provide a unique ECU.

It's not a difficult thing for the manufacturer to do, but we're always viewed as an "insignificant market" on the global level.

We've missed out on cars before because of our 15mph bumper laws (thank you insurance companies)

And we wonder why cars here cost more than some other countries - its all these "extras" we have to pay for

the politicians in ontario are crazy!! if they're really concerned bout road safety, they can make the driving tests harder and even require drivers to do their road test again every couple of years. they could also force everyone to go through a 'performance' driving school to teach drivers how to react to dangerous situations (emergency braking, skiding on a slippery road, etc).... i think more driver's education is the answer to safer roads and not lowering of the speed limits.

very true, wasn't there a licensing center in scarborough shut down or reprimanded for "selling licenses" to young drivers and recent immigrants without proper testing or training? maybe we should be working on pulling these people off the road...

If this passes, I'll just get the limiter removed on any future car affected.

I'd just get a tune that will probably come with a delimiter option......

Then you are illegal. They are talking about roadside checks to enforce it.Much better to not have to worry about it at all!

I got a roadside check on my M to check for emmision equipment coming out of the racetrack in May.

Coming out of Cayuga and it was OPP with the smog police guys.I was not very impressed! They focused in on the fact that my exhaust was chalky white inside as it is any time that I have been on track which was a few days before at Mosport.

Wholly fcuk, send that off to the MP.

Maybe he'll take credit for it.

Just like graduated licenses for motorcycles. Seems so smart, seems to make sense, seems to create a path for continued learning.

Idiot politicians at work with your money people, get out and vote his ass off the island

Jim Karrygiannis is a Federal MP. If he gets it done You'll get it too.

I know Jim socially, he's a nice guy, but I'd guess he's a bit of a loose cannon in Parliament. I really wouldn't worry about this getting through.

If it does keep your M3, no need to retrofit, only cars built after Jan 2010 are affected.
