What is up with service at BMW of Alexandria

I make an appointment for my annual low mileage oil change service so I can drop the car off after work Thursday, get a loaner, and be on my way. SA, a nice guy, tells me there are no loaners and worse yet (for him), there are 70 people arriving tomorrow who won't have the loaner they thought they were getting!

SA calls me Friday early afternoon to tell me my car won't be ready until Monday night? I'm WTF? I had an appointment, etc. SA says that appointments and walk ins are treated the same! Why bother taking appointments then? Apparently, there's a recall and it needs reprogramming (can't that run overnight like PUMA cases do?). I mean, really, 4 days for an oil change? Insane...I should have just had them give me the oil, filter, and cabin filters and been on my way. I'd be done and happy instead of waiting for the car (again). I don't get it.

I'd go to another dealer but it is somewhat convenient to drop off vs. other, more out of the way dealers.

At least they will cover up to $30 of uber charges!

Go to Passport BMW for service - Alexandria's service department is absolutely terrible

Along those lines we skip the local dealer that is close and drive over a bridge into another city to go to another dealer due to issues we have had. But as fate would have It we had issues at the out of the way dealer also. You are not alone.

Every time I go there something goes wrong....given wrong paperwork or incomplete paperwork, front emblem ripped off car, power button ripped off... I assume In vacuuming and cleaning stage although I said do not wash car.

It takes me 1 hour without traffic for to get to the dealer, for me to have to come back to have these minor things fixed costs me more in time value of money then to just order parts online and fix myself.

Stay clear of here there is a major disconnect somewhere in this dealership.

Unfortunately we all have to get recalls done at dealer.

I forgot the best part: they had zero information on the car in their system even though they did the same service last year. Made me prove I was the original owner. Easy enough to do, but totally unnecessary. I have a hard time believing that they couldn't have called BMW and asked who was the first owner.

Sounds like BMW of Alexandria has gained the reputation of what VOB use to be; if anyone remember them from some years ago. My go to stealership is usually BMW of Sterling, they seem to have the largest availability of loaners in the DMV. But I also go to BMW of Fairfax because they seem to always have the best service special in the DMV. If you decide to wait at either of these they are both close to shopping and eateries. Sterling has Dulles Town Center and Dulles 28 Centre near it. Fairfax is near the Mosiac District.

Had bad experience here.

Went in to ask about rod bearings labor. They wouldn't give me a definite price, instead, they beat around the bushes saying that they couldn't give me an estimate because they might find something else. I specifically told them, just change rod bearings and I will supply the parts. They still wouldn't give me a price, but they gave me the hours it costs to do it. So I just left.

Where do you guys get your rod bearings job done? I know when the time comes, I will need it.

RRT is a little expensive for an Indy shop but you can trust them with your car!
