So then probably not worth the 2 grand or so this is bound to cost? I'm just trying to figure out if this is a worthwhile mod or not.
I wouldn't do it for $2k unless you were upgrading or rebuilding the LSD unit.

Just wanted to provide an update regarding my comments on the 3.45 diff and GTS DCT tune. I was previously using a "revised" aftermarket GTS tune and believe that had something to do with my issues. I had my car flashed back to the OEM DCT tune and then recently installed the OEM GTS DCT tune. The issues I previously experienced have not returned and I'm really enjoying this OEM GTS tune. I've been running in S5 at the track and plan to test S6 out at COTA in a few weeks, can't wait!

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear you got it sorted. How do you like the 3.45 overall, street and track?

Just out of curiosity, what issues were you having with the aftermarket revised GTS tune?

It's been great on both but I don't necessarily have a good frame of reference as I bought the car with the 3.45 gear set already installed.

Imprecise rev matches and some transmission lurch at slow speeds, especially in D mode (when stopping and going). Everything was still functional, just not perfect. OE GTS tune has been great thus far.

Where did you get your OE GTS tune from?

Thanks

Ah, I see. Moot point anyway as I'm already past the point of return on the 3.45 swap.

Hujan, where did you get your 3.45 from? I'm debating between that or 3.62.

Congrats on the upgrade! Sticking with the factory LSD or upgrading that as well?

Diff Question

Hey folks,

So my reardiff is getting replaced under warranty (3rd party) and I have a chance to upgrade the part.

The insurance will put in a used OEM 3.15 diff with 44k miles on it fully covered. Notably, I am not clear if they'll require a core return (how much do they go for?).

However, I could upgrade to a diffsonline DCT diff with 3.45 ratio. They'll require my core back. I found that diffsonline is currently asking for $2499 for the 3.45; however, another site is offering branded diffsonline 3.45 for $1949.

For daily driving is the 3.45 worth it? I'll unlikely track the car...

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Dew

From all reviews, 3.45 or 3.62 is best enjoyed during daily driving where the additional low down torque is most beneficial.

Acceleration will improve at the expense of top speed, of course.

This means the engine will be at higher RPM (noisier, higher fuel consumption, more wear-and-tear, etc.) when cruising on the highway. If you have an aftermarket exhaust, it could get pretty annoying. Just something to consider.

I'm interested in these ratios.
