Removing battery: Will it mess with settings?

This one's embarrassing: I was installing my blacklines yesterday and dropped a socket head into the battery compartment where I can't get to it. If I remove my battery to dig it out, will my various settings be erased, or are they stored in flash memory or something?

pretty much everything will be erased...not gonna say everything....but you may have to reset some things.
