Just curious why you got the bumper and didn't just have ABS or Kings shave the OEM one?

I need a new bumper too, but I'm not sure which route I want to take.
Because I'm to ocd for my own good that's why lol I've heard a lot of good things about IND and there paint matching and I didn't want to get my bumper resprayed and have a noticeable difference. I'm also going to send in my fuel door to them for an even more accurate paint job.
To be honest man, I'm sure IND would do a fantastic job, but if you really want that OCD 100% job, I recommend just buying it unpainted and having one of the well regarded shops in your area paint it. I bet they'll be similar in price or even cheaper than IND for the paintwork. Having the full car in front of them allows them to really get the match correct, they may even suggest blending some of the hood in as well.
Totally agree.

It's an older car and a local shop can tint the base coat to more closely match the rest of the car. IND is just gonna grab the stock color off the shelf. The day your car was painted at the factory the machine responsible for mixing the paint could have gotten a little excited with the tints and added a little too much.
And I totally agree with that, and that's why I wanted to take that extra step and send them my fuel door in order for them to get a closer match to the paint currently on the car.
Good idea, I must have missed that part. Keep us updated on how it turns out. I'm thinking about replacing mine in the next year or less.
Will do! Should be here in a couple weeks! Super excited

Post Rod Bearings and Motor Mounts

I just acquired my 08 E92 2 weeks ago with 70k miles on the clock. It's not making any noises or anything, but since there were 2 previous owners, I thought I should do the bearings. I'm also new to Denver so I did some research and I took it to Absolute Motor Works, Inc. for the work. They put in the VAC-HPRBK-S65 coated bearings and ARP bolts and swapped the engine mounts. Here's what the old bearings looked like.

Bought some stuff.

For you daily drivers out there, got the infamous door lock actuator fail. $199 for the driver's side or $66 for both.

Thanks! It looks better in camera tho. Previous owner mainly drove it highway and probably never washed it! This is a one stage polish. Deff needs more but it will do for now.

Year is 2011 and currently has 173k km or 108k miles
I bought it but haven’t been fully able to drive it as I’m deathly scared of the rod bearings. Waiting for the parts to come in and I’ll get that done right away and then I can finally enjoy it. Surprisingly then interior is in great shape. The detailer thought it had around 60k km/ 37.5k miles

I've never taken one racing, but the racing that day looked a little slow. I didn't see too many times where you really got up high into the revs and picked up some good speed. Was this due to the track, the cars in front of you, or just not wanting to push it?

Oh it was designed to be a first ever track experience for the other 3 cars. I did it so I could experience the track for dirt cheap.

So to answer your question. Due to the cars in front of me, mainly the instructor Miata wanting to keep the speeds low for the newbie drivers.

You are right, I don't think my shift lights came on the whole time I was at the track that day. Still a fun experience. Like imagine a track day where the risk to your car is even lower. Almost like street driving, but speeding, but not worrying about red/blue lights behind you.

Ah, makes sense now. Thanks for the clarification!

I would like to run on the track some day, but I have the vert. But then again, maybe taking the vert to a track , where the speeds are lower, like you did would be okay.

Go for it, probably 90% of the E93 haters don't even take their cars out of the garage.

Take it to the track, it's still an M3. I did the HPDE at Sears Point which was well within the limits of the car (it was lead/follow and we were following Camrys) but still gave you a chance to open up and push yourself and your own skills.

That at least opens the door to HPDE level 2 and 3.

My better-half noticed the floorboard carpet by the console getting damp on a long trip. I dropped the transmission shield, cleaned out the drain flap and blew compressed air through the evaporator drain lines. Ran the car for a bit and it seems to be draining well. Should be good to go now!

Adding titanium ticon resonators to my race exhaust. Figured a second set would help with a bit of drone and resonance sub 3k RPMs. We shall see…
