First is my car in Avery Lagoon Matte and the second one was when my car was 3M Charcoal Matte. I think I am changing it up in February when the weather gets better here in Chicago. Have a couple colors in mind.

Patience. Lol.

I worked at a vinyl shop for like 8 years so I have a lot of experience with wraps. Probably the most overlooked aspect of wraps is taking everything apart before you do the wrap (headlights, taillights, door handles, etc.)

Bumpers are obviously the hardest part to wrap, and the front bumper on a M3 is actually pretty difficult to do properly.

One of the vinyl manufacturers (Arlon) has a website with a bunch of how to videos. It is actually pretty good. I would recommend watching them if you are looking for guidance.

Customer brought us his gloss white wrapped M3

We peeled it off, cleaned it up, new trunk and then went matte black

Finished product, black is a little played out but customer wanted it and it looks great we think!

Quick question: What black wrap did you use? All the black wraps I've seen turn out more dark grayish vs true black. I've been wanting to get it wrapped black but only if it is close to BMW's frozen black. I'm wanting more this:

and less this:

Someone recommended doing a 2 stage wrap with glossy black initially, then a satin clear wrap but that would shoot the price up considerably.

Try 3M SATIN black, not matte. It looks great and very close to BMW frozen black.

We'll, I guess I won't be wrapping my M... I traded it for the 13 RS5... I think it was time for a change. I'll still be around the forum, browsing, reading... Contributing. Who knows, maybe M4 in 2015.

There's a company in SGV/LA that does it for around 1500-1700 3M stuff.
