The problem is with funky exhausts is that the noise made impresses only a few people, while the vast majority think your are a DB.
Just saying..not trying to have a dig at you.
i agree. I have issues with the bikes as well. Some of the Harleys are just stupid loud and obnoxious. How they don't get pulled over for noise is beyond me. I think it's very inconsiderate to just loiter in a neighborhood and just rev your engine with loud exhaust.

I would agree. I feel this way about loud bikes and cars. If you are modifying the exhaust just to make the vehicle loud and draw attention to yourself than you have a problem that needs to be addressed by a mental health professional.

During my career as a police officer I ticketed every bike owner (predominately Harley owners) with modified exhausts that I encountered.

Oh, and my most awkward moment in an M3 was sexual in nature.

I think it's impossible to ruin an expensive german car with an exhaust? Prove me wrong, I actually wouldn't mind seeing a video :P (no jokes, I just can't even think of one)

Sorry I left out my response I just had to get my thoughts on here about the experience before I forgot. But some additions.
1. I knew members here would appreciate it except this guy dizzyj funny b.c he dnt even drive an M.
2. The meisterschaft gt2 with the SR and LX pipes on my car is extremely loud but more F1, and obviously did it for performance we all know we get enough looks just b.c we drive an m3
3.It was ironic b.c the guy looked like a typical harley guy.
4. My response to his blowjob comments was a flat rev in neutral followed by leaving him in a cloud of smoke.

The strategy I liked to employ was that if the bike owner was local I would warn them and let them know if I see the bike with an altered exhaust in the future I would ticket them each and every time. I would indeed ticket them. If the owners were not local they rode away with the ticket.

My chief received many complaints from bikers who felt I was being unreasonable. He always backed me up. It came to the point where he had copies the applicable motor vehicle statute ready to hand out to the 'offended' bikers.

I also ticked a few cars for excessively loud exhausts over the course of my career.

I will need to start drinking before revealling the detais of the awkward M3 incident.

Really! It is soooooo much easier to ruin it than to make an improvement.

Mods are like personal opinions and people are entitled to do what they want with their car, but also remember that people are also more aware and ready to share their opinions to you. You just have to find a suitable reaction or response.

I would have just looked at him dead in the eye and revved the shit out of my car.

Yet another douche bag cop. Simple minded dolts that somehow pass the civil service exam.

I personally believe that many loud bike riders are DBs themselves, but there is a prevalent logic that "loud pipes save lives". I'm a believer in that philosophy, but still try not to upset folks if I can avoid it. This cop just bunches all loud bike riders into one group because he's too simple minded to evaluate more than one factor at a time.

I think season 13, episode 12 of South Park covers this topic fairly well.

Ha Ha!

****. Classic.

Even more classic. The forum software edited my post so that it would be politically correct. The missing word is F-A-G-S. That South Park episode (for the normal people who don't follow the series) was about ignorant Harley riders that think they're cool by making lots of noise. IIRC the boys have the word **** legislated to mean stupid, loud, Harley riders.

When I had the GT2 on I can recall only one person not provide a favorable expression. All others gave thumbs up to include my family & neighbors. I don't like to draw attention to myself but live for a nice sounding exhaust. It also lets people know your coming & to GTF outta the way.
