Agree with this as well. I really like the styling but can't stand the ugliness of the interior
Definitely not my cup of tea...

HEre i go shoving my .02 in here. Since my father has been a mechanic for over 23 years he has come to a conclusion in telling me that US made vehicles are bad. Once your mileage reaches 100,000 mi. Be ready to sell it. They have engine problems, overheat, and things start pilying up. Thats just IMO idk if anyone agrees with this.. You usually see american cars in mechanics shops.
umm, no. the only things that have ever gone wrong on American cars are the interiors falling apart. but, if you lurk this forum long enough, you will see plenty of people beetching about peeling steering wheels, door handles, creaks and noises, etc, etc.

What do you mean "price is about the same?" There's a $10k difference.

I bought my bimmer becuase it was a sedan that had an ok amount of room while still being fun and having a manual transmission. I looked at the G8, but it didn't have a manual.

If I was going to get a coupe in a similar price range to my bimmer, it'd be a mustang, not a camaro; its got a nicer interior, nicer exterior, better exhaust sound stock.

You would have to be insane to pick an Accord over a 426hp 420ft/lbs anything. Clearly you like to ride, not drive.

Exactly. You'd have a hard time buying a 328 for that. My moderately equipped 335 MSRP'd at 49,500. And that's without nav, etc.

Clearly the car is not for everyone, but depending on what you use it for and what your needs are, nothing is more grin-inducing than that kind of hp/trq!

A ZR1 is a Chevy. But some people here would rather have a 335 because of the badge.... The ignorance in this subforum is ridiculous sometimes. It makes me want to go buy a new SS, bolt on a couple mods, and obliterate every punk ass self-entitled bitch kid I see in a 335.... Then post the vids all over the internet.

Just my $.02

i personally think the new camaro is a home run. it flat out beats the mustangs(except the gt500), and the challengers. It offers other things that bmw doesn't offer which might make it a better car to some. to the person saying that the camaros interior is crap, i don't think i can agree with that. other chevy interiors may be but camaro has quite a few nice things about the interior. im not saying that the camaro is better than any car in the world, but you guys are blowing everything out of proportion and have know idea wha your talking about.

oh and as i go and reread the posts and see that everyone posting owns a 335 it make understand why you guys think the camaro is crap, because 335 fanboys think there car is the shit. I hold nothing against the 335 as i would consider buying one if i ever have the need for one.

Most of the people who have actually sat in the car, even on these forums, agree that it is better than expected. It's not incredible, but neither is the 335's. The retro look is obnoxious to some. Okay I get it. But, that doesn't make it cheap. The dash was cheap in my '68 GTO, and certainly not up to standards today (or even back then probably; my glove box was just that: a cardboard box behind the dash), but the car wasn't about that. It was about the lopey idle, smell of a carbeurated engine, exhaust note to die for, and the torque literally twisted the frame like a wet noodle. Of course, it was modded to the hilt which helped, but I really think a lot of you here have no idea what muscle cars are about, or what they've always been about. If you care THAT MUCH about interior quality, your priorities lie in a place where muscle cars have never cared to, nor needed to, excel.

I looked at the Challenger srt8 before buying the 335. The interior did suck. Not as bad as the old cars because they didnt even try to spruce it up. it was plain which was fine, but the materials sucked. Plus the fact that the guy wouldnt drop a penny below MSRP and the jacked up prices. I sat down and thought to my self "why would I ever pay 50k for a DODGE?". I've had a Dodge. It was a POS.

But what bearing does that have on the new Camaro?

I would gladly pay $50k for a Viper ACR any day.

What the fuck is up with everyone saying it doesn't handle?

IIRC, it laps the 'Ring some 7 seconds faster than the 335, meaning 3.5 seconds faster than the Cobalt SS. Not incredibly impressive for a car with this much power, but saying "it doesn't handle" just shows how much you know about the subject.

This forum is filled w/ SSW's. Or people who pretend to be car enthusiasts. That's pretty much it.

At least VW has some nice plastics shit. The new generation is amazing. I think I'll be getting that over this. They spent how many years designing this car? And they come up with an interior like that?

Huge steering wheel, HUGE ebrake looks like a dildo, and its on the right side (personally annoys me), HUGE retro gauges, I hate how the key inset is on the steering rather than flat next to the steering column. dash config looks like a rental car.
The Camaro was never made for dash-strokers. And retro isn't for everybody.

The Camaro SS is one hell of a car. Trust me, it CAN handle. Add three minor bolt-on parts and this car will run mid 12's all day long. Is it for me? Not necessarily. Its too much on the large side.

The 335's dash isn't impressive either. The double hump is not easy on the eyes by any means and the abrupt transition in the center console doesn't exactly make me drool either. Yeah, the materials are mostly ok, but these cars aren't exactly light years ahead of the Camaro in terms of quality or design.

So let's deal in reality here. 98% of the drivers here couldn't get any better perfromance out of the 335 vs. the Camaro, so if one handles better than the other is not relevent to the discussion. The Camaro is far less expensive and less complicated machine. The Camaro is a 2-month wait to get one. 335's are discounted.

What I'd like to see is the Z28 come to fruition. CTS-V power in a more nimble package.... That's enticing. Heard the project was on the chopping block though, and even if it made it, it would be an expensive, limited run of cars. Shame. They had a monster on their hands....
