'Candy Coat' Front Lip

Hi all,
Thinking about getting a carbon fiber front lip and apply candy coat finish on it. My car is Jerez Black.
Is it a bad move? Maintenance and repair (rock chips) wise?

Lips are going to be the most susceptible to rock chips. If you shell out for candy coat, at least cover it with 3M Clear Bra to diminish rock chip damage. With that said, I think you are best off doing the standard color and covering it with 3M clear bra. Another option is to vinyl it which is replaceable and more affordable.

I used House Of Color candy (candy apple red) on the front CF splitters of my CSL bumper (E46). Came out really nice, shines bright red in the sun and you can see the weave underneath because of the translucent candy. I also did some other cf bits to go along with the theme.... Have never had a problem with chips either..
