E90 M3 VF540 Supercharger install

We decided to install a VF540 supercharger for our in-house E90 M3 project/test car. Since the car is currently setup for everyday street use, the VF540 kit was a good fit. We plan to change the setup in a few months for more track-oriented use and the ease of the VF540 upgrade options is a plus.

Ordered the kit and luckily VF had 1 left in-stock, which was a nice surprise. The kit arrives in 2 boxes. 1 for just the one-piece intake manifold and the other containing the rest of the kit.

There's no compromise for quality and cleanliness of the hardware. This is one of the custom parts included with the kit using a factory pulley.

Roto-molded piping and a very thick main bracket with matching heavy duty hardware.

Since this is mainly a street car for now, we're going to stick with the VF included Greddy BOV.

Vortech V3 w/laser engraved pulley spec. No calipers needed.

Teardown

Main Bracket and Idler going on

We really like the heavy-duty feel of this bracket and it's hardware. Everything also bolts directly to Factory positions on the block with no touch-ups needed.

Some more small details that add to the overall quality and aesthetic.

Because this a VF540 kit, there is no water-cooling system yet. We were able to wrap up this install in about 10hrs From Start to Finish. For anyone installing this kit, we highly advise to request the custom Hex Flash file prior to starting the install. Once you get your kit, the Hex Flash cable and instructions will be included. Do those steps first! VF-Engineering was able to provide our custom file the next day! Big thanks to VFE for the quick turn around!
